Shopping at jurong point, I had a craving for Japanese food and pancakes , combine them both and it equates to Okonomiyaki! (Japanese Style Savoury Pancake) We ordered Mix Grill Platter, Seafood Okonomiyaki.Sad faces is the grilled salmon being overcooked. The taste of the chicken is juicy and tender with generous amount of fresh bean sprouts.Lastly , lots of fresh seafood in a savory , fluffy batter topped with Japanese sauces and mayo. Fantastic! This place is clean and modern looking with plenty of seats. Service was a little slow (I’m guessing time to prepare) but good food and polite. continue reading

The miso soup is a must-have for me to complete a Japanese meal. I like to try the miso soup from different restaurants because the taste will vary. Botejyu's miso soup was very sweet, unlike some of the miso soup that are very bland or taste nearly like plain water. They gave a reasonable amount of soup and it was enough for me to complete my meal while drinking it occasionally. Actually, the taste does not have any significant difference from the one from Ajisen (Or at least the one I had at the Ajisen outlet in Clementi) which makes sense because the restaurants are under a same company. Its worth adding-on the soup. You definitely don't have to worry about getting plain water-like miso soup from botejyu! continue reading

Incase you does not know what Okonomiyaki - Okonomiyaki (お好み焼き?) is a Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning "what you like" or "what you want", and yaki meaning "grilled" or "cooked" (cf. yakitori and yakisoba).I think botejyu serve the best Okonomiyaki in singapore. i always order Okonomiyaki with Pork, Squid, Prawn and a Sunny Side Up Topping Mochi and Cheese Okos which cost about S$14, generous portion given, served piping hot and love how they spread the mayonnaise on-top it. continue reading
