Cafe Mojito at Ang Mo Kio has been revamped with new management and new food offerings. They are promoting themselves as a salad, healthy eating cafe. But I'm not that health conscious myself, hence I skipped the salads. They have a great view of the main road, facing the amk-bishan park. They offer appetizers such as your familiar truffle fries, nachos, healthier options like wraps and salads. For carbs you can pick between penne or pasta. The staff were pretty friendly and patient in explaning the dishes to us as we took a while to make up our minds on what to get.

The truffle aroma was just right! The fries were crisp and not a single one was over cooked. A decent portion of truffle fries for the price. This would be a great option for families.

My friends love guacamole and salsa so we went for this. The sauces was okay, they met my expectation and taste. I did like the presentation of the dips, that forms the colours of a traffic light signal. The nachos was fresh and crispy with every crunch.

Next up, was an appetizer, even at the price at $13.80. I totally enjoyed it. The popcorn chicken was crispy on the outside and with the layer of thick gooey cheese. It was perfect. The salted egg sauce wasn't too thick and you could distinctly taste both the cheese and salted egg sauce in every bite of the popcorn chicken!

This appetizer was topped off with corn, a lot of it too! A nice addition! The portion of the popcorn chicken could easily be a main course for me. The proportion of cheese and salted egg was just right, almost every bite of popcorn chicken had a taste of both.

4. Baked Chicken Penne $14.80

Timing for baking this was great, the penne was al dente, with lots of chicken cubes in the mix. The top of the baked chicken penne was cheesey goodness along with the cream sauce which was slightly charred to perfection. It was served hot and even after a long while of photo taking, the dish stayed warm. This dish wasn't gerlat at all. I could totally eat this again!

With a salted egg craze going all over singapore. Cafe Mojito decided to try something new. Almond pecan ice cream with real pecan chunks on a crispy waffle, topped with salted egg sauce.

They were extremely generous with the salted egg sauce, but unlike other eateries, their salted egg sauce was very chunky. You could definitely tell it was authentic salted egg that went into the sauce, not powder. The ice cream itself wasn't overly sweet and the waffle was okay for my liking. It wasn't as crispy as I liked it to be, but with the salted egg sauce on top, together with the melting ice cream, I'd say the waffle fared well. An interesting combination for a dessert!

Overall : Great cafe atmosphere, awesome and friendly staff and service coupled with comfort food and desserts offerings. I'm definitely coming back for more salted egg popcorn chicken and dessert!

Located right across from the Ang Mo Kio - Bishan Park, is this newly opened cafe. A Mojito cafe that doesn't serve Mojito! They open at 830am on saturday and sunday to serve the bishan park recreational community. They have outdoor seating for customers with pets which is a great idea, since Bishan Park has a Dog Run and I saw a good number of dogs just 50 metres from the entrance of this cafe. The interior seating can seat 10pax or so. The interior seating can seat 10pax or so. The ambience is very cutesy with little flowers on every table, dark colours are used for the walls and the menu.

Unlike typical cafes that serves egg benny etc, Mojito is quite unique with a variety of cakes, baked goods for sale and check out their menu!

They have a good range of main courses from sandwiches to pizzas and beefballs. All priced below $10, making it very reasonably priced for the neighbourhood.

Their hot drinks range from $2.80 for an espresso to $4.80  for a hot chocolate, a very simple drink menu that should suit majority of youngsters.

Being that this is a NETT priced cafe, help yourself to the cutlery and other condiments.

The herb focaccia toast had a very crisp and crusty edges making it very enjoyable, it was very filling and I barely managed to finish 1.5 pieces of the toast. The beef was very moist and tender but I felt that it was lacking some flavour.

2. Mud Pie $6.90

For $6.90, this was very value for money, served with Cappucino and Chocolate flavoured ice cream, and alot of oreo crumbs. The ice cream tasted okay but with the oreo crumbs and the pie at the base, it was pretty epic!

I loved the taste of this mocha, some places make it too sweet and some too bitter. At Mojito, I think they made it spot-on, at least for my taste. However, it wasn't served hot, but more like luke warm, which I was okay with. But once my food arrived, I realized my drink had become cold. Still a good choice for a drink though.

The friendly waitress asked us what kind of cakes we liked, as she fore warned us that most of the cakes were rich rather than light. We went with the Sacher Torte which was described to us as a chocolate cake with orange filling and it indeed was, admist the different layers, the middle layer was a sour orangey tasting layer. It helped offset the dense sweetness of the chocolate. I did rethink what the waitress said and definitely agreed with her that the cakes can be quite rich and may not suit everyone's tastebuds. At least they still serve swiss rolls and muffins which are very reasonably priced at $1.50.

For a newly opened cafe situated right under a block of flats at Ang Mo Kio, I think Mojito is doing very well with showcasing their baking talents! They have a wide variety of cakes, and tarts.
