They had rather tasty sides.. love the seaweed and sweet cuttlefish best but take note they only allow 2 rounds of sides and not free flow We ordered pork ribs and chicken. Ohhhh… the ribs were really really good. Well marinated and tender! It’s actually served up as a slab of meat with only 1 rib.. and not what I had feared most.. lots of bones and no meat. The chicken was also good. They have side serves of raw green chili and carrot and according to the crew its to eat with the bbq meat - gave it a shot and the green chili heightened the flavour of the meat with a fresh raw chili taste - nice!http://missmehhh.wordpress.com/2014/11/30/30th-monthiversary/ continue reading

Hallyu Wave! Must eat korean! Hanging out at Dempsey Road in this cool modern korean setting restaurant, the servers are prompt and friendly. We ordered Braised beef in hot claypot and Assorted Beef BBQ Shortly when orders came in , I love how they provide 8 different types of free flow appetizers, my preference especially for the anchovies and pickled radish. Flavourful braised beef soup was spicy and watching how it smokes like that brings me back memories of when I was in KoreaWell marinated assorted beef set that sizzles on the fire. Typing this makes me wanna go back there already. continue reading

I have visited this barberqued restaurant with my fellow friends during our dinner gathering. The restaurant layout may not look spacious, but the environment is still airy and not too noisy. THe staffs here are quite friendly and prompt in service. Wide range of seafoods to choose from, and I personally enjoy having their squid rings, which are quite thick and big in slices. Moreover, they are also very chewy and fresh. The chilli sauce provided here is also quite appetitizing and quite spicy as well. Great for dipping the seafoods. continue reading

My Korean friend brought a group of friends to Chang Korean BBQ Restaurant at Dempsey to introduce us to authentic Korean cuisine. I'm not sure about the tables outside, but the good ventilation inside the private rooms will ensure that you will not walk out of the eatery reeking of grease. You can put aside your fears about overcooking barbequed items at Chang, for the trained staff will do the cooking for you here. The well-marbled Galbi prime ribs (왕양념갈비 Wang Yangnyeom) ($34++) were terrific: sweet, tender and mouthwateringly flavorful. I would gladly go for seconds!I'm not a fan of grilled pork belly, but my friend declared the 삼겹살 Samgyeobsal ($20++) his favorite dish of the meal though.Chang's 돌판알비빔밥 Dolpan-Al-Bibimbap ($20++) adds a modern touch to this ubiquitous Korean dish by featuring flying fish roe in addition to the usual suspects of soybean sprouts, julienned carrots and mushrooms. The pop-in-the-mouth tobiko added a welcome textural contrast to the mix of fresh-tasting sautéed and seasoned vegetables, fragrant rice and crunchy burnt bits from the bottom of the bowl. The bean curd soup (비지찌개 Biji-Chigae) ($16++) and bean paste soup (된장찌개| Denjang-Chigae) ($16++) were passable, while the ginseng chicken soup (삼계탕 Samgyetang) ($25++) could have definitely done with more punch. We also ordered two bowls of buckwheat cold noodles- one in beef broth (물냉면 Mul Naengmyeon) ($16++), as pictured above, and the other in spicy sauce (비빔냉면 Bibim Naengmyeon) ($16++). While the former was tangy and refreshing, I liked the Bibim Naengmyeon better for the addictive sweet and slightly tart chogochujang that doused the noodles. (My Korean friend commented that the chogochujang was slightly too sweet though.) I also preferred the chewier bite of the vermicelli in the spicy cold noodles to that of the Mul Naengmyeon. A complimentary cup of 식혜 sikhye, a traditional Korean rice drink prepared from malt water and cooked rice, was served at the end of the meal to aid digestion. It's an acquired taste, I say. continue reading

Was gathering with my friends at dempsey road recently. After 'strolling' around to decide where to have our dinner, i actually suggested this korean restaurant due to my sudden craving for korean food. We have ordered bbq pork and chicken, and yes, it really yummy! Usually, one bowl of rice is not enough for me, have to get a refill, as its really tempting to just keep eating and eating. Haha. I like their side dishes also, it really goes very well with the rice. I am so in love with Korean food and culture! continue reading
