My friend bought a box of chewy juniors which were going for 6 for $6 which i think is a good deal. I think this is because it is around 9pm+ and so they are selling it at a cheaper price so as to clear existing stocks. So yay! Everyone gets a chewy junior for supper!Chewy Junior are actually like cream puffs but their skin is more chewy and hence the name Chewy Junior. I like that there is a word junior too because it just fits their pastries so well. They are small and great for snacking. Anyw

Anyway she got a myriad of flavours - Lemon Pie Crunch, Original, Chocolate Almond Crunch, Apple Delight and some others. I tried the Lemon Pie Crunch (top row, centre) and it's really a mouthful. There is cream at the centre of the pastry, which adds flavour to the puff and then there is the lemon jam on top. I like the cream inside as it is not too liquified, has some consistency. That way i need not worry that the cream may flow out due to gravity. But it is also quite sticky, coupled with the chewy exterior. The puff is baked and so it is a little hard on the outside. There is also some cereal on top which provided crunch to the otherwise chewy and sticky dessert.

Besides packing them in boxes, CJ also provides cute little plastic packaging if you happen to buy individually. Great for gifting too!

Chewy Juniors have also extended their menu, beyond these sweet treats to savoury ones. Like chicken floss in the puffs. Definitely worth coming back for another dessert treat.

I was attracted by the variety of toppings available, all look so attractive and appetizing. There are only two cream fillings available though, chocolate and vanilla.I have tried both cream fillings before and I think the vanilla cream taste nicer and suit the puff more. But I think the cream filling needs to complement the outer topping as well, thus different cream filling may taste better in different puff depending on its topping,The puff itself has a texture of ice cream cone for the outer c

I have tried both cream fillings before and I think the vanilla cream taste nicer and suit the puff more.
But I think the cream filling needs to complement the outer topping as well, thus different cream filling may taste better in different puff depending on its topping,
The puff itself has a texture of ice cream cone for the outer crust and english muffin for its inner layer.
The one in the picture has a white chocolate coating sprinkled with cornflakes.
Took out of fridge and ate, yummy, overall not too sweet and all the components, be it the puff, cream, white chocolate coating and toppings all matches each other well.
However, the cornflakes are not crispy, not sure is it originally like that or due to not being put in the fridge as soon as possible after being bought.
