This stall's food is so cheap, i ordered three dishes and paid less than $3. i ordered a vegetable, a meat and a tou fu dish. the lean meat was pretty good, the gravy was very tasty, not too salty, goes well with rice. the tou fu dish was another yummy dish. the gravy was pretty thick, a great match with the white rice. the vegetable was cooked perfectly, not over cooked as it was pretty crunchy and juicy. not too bad.

If you're around South Spine of NTU and your stomach's longing for food, head down to Canteen B. My favourite stall is the Chinese Cuisine stall. Unfortunately it is also many people's favourite stall and it always has a very long queue during lunchtimes. The stall owners are quick with their hands and the queue shortens quite rapidly. This is what I chose for my mixed rice combination! Usually I'm quite bad at choosing the dishes, especially when usually ordering at the mixed rice stall is such

This is what I chose for my mixed rice combination! Usually I'm quite bad at choosing the dishes, especially when usually ordering at the mixed rice stall is such a hasty process, don't you agree?
Chop chop must order finish!

So my trick is just to pick whatever I like on impulse, and also picking something that my friend/ the previous person in line has ordered. This a good tactic, right!

I chose the chicken, turnip and potato wedges. Comes up to a total of $2.

I like the chicken most. A twinge of spiciness and tender chicken pieces... Say goodbye to vegetarian plans!
The turnip slices are a bit too long for comfortable eating. I'm super lazy to cut them myself. But I like turnip! I think they are sort of vegetables. They are, right? Haha!
The potato wedges - omg. I don't like my potatoes with skins!!! They didn't peel it. Gosh. But the taste is still not bad. I can't get over the fact that they didn't peel the skin though. :S Eeks! Don't order this if you have the skin-pet-peeve like me.

I ordered the cabbage + xiaobaicai dish before, which I think is yummy! You can try that. Since I'm speaking from an anti-vegetable person perspective, you should trust me.

Overall
No point coming down to NTU to eat at Canteen B if you're not a student in NTU. Not worth the effort. You should head over to Food Connection or some other Canteens instead. Canteen B is the place you should go to if you are trying to save money because it is the cheapest canteen for the same amount of food. Can't say the same for the quality of food though. *hint hint*

Note: There are two pails ('pails' sound so unhygienic but they are indeed metal pails) of sauces - curry sauce and some black-coloured sauce that you can drench your rice with. However the curry sauce runs out by 12.30pm so if you want those you must get to the stall before 12.30pm. There's plenty of the black-coloured sauce so don't have to worry about that...

The cutlery are not very clean. Another of my pet peeves, I can't use dirty cutlery. I'll check each of the forks and spoons carefully first. You should too, unless you want to eat the remnants of another person's meal. Or even worse, dried detergent!
Okay I shouldn't disgust you any further.

I ordered a fried egg, a luncheon meat, a tau pok and some vegetables and it only cost me $2.30. what I like about their luncheon meat is that they do not use those ultra salty kind. Their luncheon meat is fairly salty and very tasty. they dun cut it into big slices so you wun get too sick of the taste. the tau pok is a little big, rather salty as well. I guess they cooke

I guess they cooked it too long in the black gravy. But it goes really well with the rice, when eaten with the rice, it is not that salty. The vegetables is really nice, very sweet and goes well with the beancurd they fried with. Very satisfied with the food and price.
