Classic cakes is named one of the top 50 cakes shops in singapore and is repeatedly featured on the papers; spotted this shop when jogging around my area recently and decide to give it a try. Staff recommend me one of their signature Black velvet cake.Initial impression : Classy old fashion looking; Rich and moist chocolate cake covered in smooth creamy mascarpone cheese.

Brought a slice of the strawberry sponge cake and the black velvet cake to try. Firstly, the strawberry sponge cake is made of different layers of sponge cake with strawberry cream spread between the cake. The cake has a soft and moist texture, light vanilla fragrance, the taste of the cream is not too sweet, with small chunk of strawberry in it. Firstly, the strawberry sponge cake is made of different layers of sponge cake with strawberry cream spread between the cake. The cake has a soft and moist texture, light vanilla fragrance, the taste of the cream is not too sweet, with small chunk of strawberry in it. As for the black velvet cake, it is made of different layer of chocolate cake with chocolate cream spread in between. The chocolate cake is not too moist but has the same soft texture as the strawberry sponge cake, has a nice chocolate taste. The chocolate cream is also not too sweet and goes well with the cake.
