I've been to Korea once and unfortunately, did not try their Jajangmyun hence I don't know how the authentic ones taste like. Jajangmyun is a noodle dish, consisting of noodles in nice and savoury black bean sauce. There's also diced onions and potato in the mix, topped with sliced cucumbers. Even though everything is so dark and black, please do not be turned off by the looks! The taste is extremely good, and the diced potato and onions has been cooked till it melts in your mouth. The noodles are bouncy and al dente, and easily gets coated with all the lovely black bean sauce.

This is how it looks like after everything is mixed together.

Do give it a try!

I always wanted to try out the 'blackish looking noodles' whenever i see in the korean drama! I finally had a chance to taste it when one of my friend who is a korean staying in Singapore brought me to this korean chinese restaurant for lunch! Saw quite a few koreans having lunch there too, thinking that their food must be quite good, thats why able to attract koreans eating there. Anyway, my friend and I both ordered Jajangmyun - the blackish looking noodles, to translate it is actually Korean

Anyway, my friend and I both ordered Jajangmyun - the blackish looking noodles, to translate it is actually Korean Black Bean Paste Noodles. The noodles look quite 'ugly', not really appealing, but it is really yummy! The taste of the black bean sauce is very nice and their noodles is quite different from the chinese noodles that we normally eat. I really like the taste of the sauce and the texture of the noodles. Its yummy! It cost around $11, their serving is quite big, so its quite worthwhile actually! Would like to try out their different dishes next time.
