I must say I was thrilled when I saw that Dunkin' Donuts has a new branch at Causeway Point, even if its presence will throw a wrench into my 2014 resolution to go on a 'diet'. The last time I had a decent piece of donut was from JCO several months ago, so naturally I just had to check out the newly opened Dunkin' Donuts take-away kiosk at Causeway Point. The first time I went, I was disappointed to see quite a limited selection of flavours on display. I ended up not getting any. But I went back

The dough was soft and the chocolate layer on top was smooth and had the right amount of thickness for me. I liked that it was chocolate-y enough without being cloyingly sweet. My favourite part of the donut was the center which has the highest concentration of the silky smooth cream. Chocolate on donut with cream in the middle, simply yummy!
Cinnamon Mochi ($2.20) - Back Right Corner
This was a "premium" donut but it fell short of (my) expectations. There was a discernible cinnamon aroma but the cinnamon taste was quite faint. The dough was noticeably harder and more chewy than the regular donut but I supposed that's why they called it "mochi". Overall, I found it to be quite bland in taste. For the price, I personally preferred the regular Boston Cream donut more.
Overall, I think the donuts are quite decent although I guess I will stick to the other regular donuts flavours in future unless another "premium" flavour I like pops out. Considering that this is a recently opened branch, I am keeping my eyes open for more variety rotation in the future!
