Went to the Singapore Favourite food fest at Bayfront ave and saw popiah-- one of my favourite street food. I was glad they didnt jack up the price due to it being a special event. There were many people queuing for the popiah from fortune and I must say I thought it was so-so only. The crispy stuff they had inside was nice but in therms of taste, it still doesnt beat my all time favourite--Qi ji. The great thing is they actually make the popiah skin on the spot!

As we were having some other finger food for breakfast, saw this stall with a big signage on the po luo bao and thought will give it a try. They have 3 different kind, the char siew, yam and sweet potato ones. I bought both the char siew and sweet potato.Actually the textures of the bread was not too bad, fluffy and tasty but the filling was indeed very pathetic. Each bite on it was as though only a flavoring but really can't savored any meat, same with the sweet potato. They were at $1.00 each. I rated it poor mainly becos of the fillings inside.

Walk past this stall during lunch and saw that they are selling a bowl of laksa for just $1.80 and decided to go for a try. With a price of $1.80, all you get in a bowl of laksa is just the thick bee hoon, been sprout and the tau pok. As for the gravy wise, it has a light coconut taste and a mild spicy flavour. The been hoon is well cooked and has a soft texture. Lastly, the tau is equally cut and it absorb the juice of the gravy. Overall, just a normal laksa and the price is quite reasonable.
