NTUC Canteen is air-conditioned. The duck rice is very fragrant, moist and tasty! The duck meat given has more meat than skin, making it less oily. The tofu were soft and melted in my mouth without much chewing For the peanuts and egg it was so-so, ordinary taste. The plus point was the cucumber slices! It helps to clear the oiliness of the flavor in your mouth and improve your appetite again! continue reading

I could not decide what to eat so i settled for the braised duck rice from the Go Duck Rice. the rice was very fragrant, not too oily. I like the thick gravy they top the rice and duck. the duck is very tender. i like it to go together with the gravy. the soup taste very fragrant, it is not too salty. has a herbal flavour which makes you want to drink mouth after mouth. it was really satisfying. continue reading

Went for dinner at Choa Chu Kang foodfare. Staall is situated next to the back door of the foodcourt. Although the name of the stall is GO Duck Rice, it is actually owned by the well-known 友记家传鸭饭 (you ji jia chuan ya fan). Meat: the meat are tender and flavourful.Soup: I changed the usual braised sauce to soup which made the entire meal less sweet and more appetizing.Noodle: Personally, I prefer kway teow. It is smooth and won't become starchy or break easily even after soaking in the hot soup for a period of time. (As there are not much kway teow left at the end of the day, the store owner gladly top up with egg noodle). For a $3.50 meal, I must say, the quantity of noodle is extremely filling.Other ingredients: There were a few slices of fishcake. It is not the usual plain white fishcake. But these had chilli and bits of green in them. Personally, would prefer if it had some beansprouts too..Overall, it was a wonderful bowl of duck noodle. continue reading

Ordered the duck noodles as it the the first stall on the right once you step in from the side entrance. The sweet was quite sweet! I didn't really like it on its own. But it was a different story once you eat it with the noodles. Storekeeper gave quite a lot of noodles. I wasn't able to finish as there were no more ingredients left. Duck was marinated well, absorbed the soup taste. I didn't try the skin as it was too fattening. There were a few pieces of fishcake and tofu, other than that, not much interesting things inside. But for a price of about 3-4$, it was quite filling, so i guess it's worthwhile if you just want to fill up your stomach! continue reading
