Its not easy to find a dessert stall that provides a good bowl of Lotus Seed dessert also known as Lien Chee Suan.I happened to stop by at Bedok Interchange and by-pass this Happy Dessert stall and order a bowl to try.I paid S$2.30 for a small bowl of hot dessert with a generous amount of cooked lotus seeds in syrup. The taste was not very sweet and the lotus seeds were not too soft. There were not enough pandan leave flavour in the making of this dessert which makes the taste a little bland. continue reading

Desserts have always been a favourite of mine as it makes me happy having them. I ordered the almond paste from Happy Desserts located at Upper Changi Road. It costs $2.50 per serving which I feel is an average price across most places. The almond paste was smooth and sweetness level was just right. I wanted it cold, therefore the shop owner sprinkled some shaved ice in the almond paste. continue reading

This stall serves good tau suan. The soya bean is very well-cooked and you could see distinct grains of them. It is thick and viscous which is what it should appear. As such, the dessert can be filling too. The level of sweetness is just right which make it a delectable dessert. The stall is generous with the you tiao too. continue reading

I cannot imagine how early this people get up to prepare the different kind of desserts to be sold. I was at the market around 9 plus and the lady is already all ready with the desserts. I ordered my favourite black sesame as usual. And to my surprise , the quality is as comparable to what I used to eat at bugis/people's park. I cannot tell what is put inside the black sesame dessert, it have this herb taste which blend well with the black sesame. This become my alternative place to have dessert if I am lazy to travel downtown. continue reading
