we arranged to have lunch at havelock turtle soup 合落山瑞 at 1130am on 5.3.2015.^^ this stall was introduced to me by a friend after the saw my Facebook posting on tan ser seng. i was keen to give it a try.

timing was good, just before the lunch crowd, and so easy to park.

i ordered S$10 bowl and small S$0.50 yam rice each. soup was tasty. there were lots of meat, gelatine & some innards. chilli was spicy, and overall taste was very good. ^^

i didn’t think it was comparable to tan ser seng though. nor fu he at jalan berseh food centre (in fact i think fu he had the best deal for the price). both had more intense & tastier soup & also turtle paws etc.

but for S$10, this was very good for the price. the yam rice was quite ok. again tan ser seng’s was more much fragrant & tastier but it cost S$1.30.
i would probably just order a S$15 bowl for sharing & try the other food like kueh chap & the fish soup which seemed popular.

The turtle soup here is supposedly quite nice so my wife and I decided to try it. The minimum cost is $8 so we ordered the $8 portion since we had something to eat before coming down. There is yam rice available at 70 cents or white rice if you prefer white rice. The turtle soup is quite strong and robust in taste and it is quite nice. For better flavour, the chinese rice wine is added which helps to lift the taste entirely. The turtle meat is quite firm and has a springly texture. I like to dip

I like to dip it in the tangy chili sauce to give it more flavour. Overall, I think it is quite a refreshing change from the normal soups and something you should try if you havent tried before.

Prices start from $6 for turtle soup. I ordered the $8 portion. There was a lot of meat inside the turtle soup. The soup broth was quite tasty and flavourful too. There was a hint of chinese wine in it which made it even tastier. I ordered yam rice (+70cents) to go with it. The chilli was the watery kind where the meat could be dipped and soaked inside. Overall, it is worth a try even though prices may be a little steep.
