When you thought of having casual seafood meals, the first few restaurants that came to mind are probably Fish & Co, Manhattan Fish Market and Jack's Place. Little did we know that a place by the name of Hooked! was hiding amidst the transquility of the western Rail Mall.Months back, a few friends and I took the opportunity to meet up for dinner after a short photoshoot at the dysfunct railway tracks. Months back, a few friends and I took the opportunity to meet up for dinner after a short photoshoot at the dysfunct railway tracks. We had the Pasta al Funghi, which comes in a savoury, creamy sauce and calms . Portion was huge enough for two girls to share, while the pasta itself was not cooked al dente, was a minus point.

Similar to Fish & Co's seafood platter, their rendition which was served with garlic prawns, squid rings, mussels along with spiced rice was rather limited. I wouldn't say it's even sharable for a grown man.

All in all, Hooked! is worth going for a decent seafood meal if there are promotions going on, and if you're around the vicinity, as it proves to be an unconvenient location.

I was back at this place in just a short span of time. I decided to try something new this time and hey presto, otah bruschetta was what I ordered. This is an interesting take on bruschetta and has much of a local touch. Its novelty didn't hold up too much for me though. The otah was nice and the bruschetta was acceptable. But the combination tasted too weird and more of otah sandwich. The soup was so-so.

If you like pasta and like black pepper fish, this is a great combination. The black pepper sauce is strong without being overpowering the other tastes, a difficult thing to achieve. The fish was fried to a crispy golden and was extremely tasty when covered with the black pepper sauce. The pasta could have been done slightly better because they seemed a tad overcooked.
