Last weekend I headed down to Telok Blangah for my (almost!) weekly dose of Hua Fa fishball noodles. The queue for the fishball noodles is always long, especially in the mornings/lunch hours. Wait patiently and you shall be rewarded with a hot steaming bowl of tasty fishball noodles. For just $2.50 you get a nice bowl of fishball noodles with fishcake, fish dumpling and just the right amount of sauce + chilli. (They also serve minced meat noodles for all you bachor mee fans out there but the fishball noodle is always my favourite)I always go back to this stall because the noodles are just the right texture, sprinkled generously with spring onions. The sauce is made just right, tasty, and spicy enough to give you the "kick" when you eat it. This steaming hot bowl comes in several sizes: $2, $2.50 and $3. Usually I get the $2.50 bowl but the $3 one would give you more ingredients and a bit more noodles. They are always sold out by 2.30 and sometimes the mee pok gets sold out leaving just the kway teow so for people like me who like my fishball mee with mee pok it can be very disappointing! Nevertheless, the taste justifies the wait for this bowl.

This is another regular spot for lunch with my colleagues. I ordered from this fishball noodle stall for a few times. A basic bowl of mee pok dry is $3 with fishballs, lean meat and fishcake. I always requested to have extra chilli to go with my mee pok and even so the level of spiciness is still quite minimum. The mee pok has always been cooked nicely to a springy texture. A handful of nicely fried pork lards was added to enhance its flavor.
