Introduction
The first Ji De Chi concept of creating delicious and comforting dessert was conceived from a humble beginning with three partners. Their passion and quests for great mouth-watering dessert that make perfect ending to a meal brought them north to Hong Kong where they learnt the art of double-boling, consistency check and perfect timing. All these skills were mastered and they brought back with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that culminated into several outlets today serving up hot and cold desserts of great quality. continue reading

After having lunch at Pizza Hut with Mr. Keith Te this afternoon, we decided to search for a cafe serving local desserts.I saw the waitress served our order and displayed very nice, which are perfectly available for eating. The bandung ice is rich in bandung flavour accompanied by toppings like atap chee and its sweetness is right for my taste. The snow ice had a delicate texture and was airy between layers. The paper-thin ribbons were neatly stacked in layers. It is indeed a dessert extremely pleasing to the eyes and taste buds alike. However, my friend did not like it, so never bother to finish it.Durian Sawdust Pudding was very yummy and cheaper because it costs S$5.30. continue reading

We Tried the durian puree, which is really great. It comes with a scope of rich durian puree atthe center and is so rich it feels like eating the durian itself. For only $6.50, it is a small peice of heavan for durian lovers in the heart of the city in air con comfort! Nice! continue reading

Since a few years back, snow ice has started to trend especially at hong kong cafe but this is definitely the best I've ever tried. The passion fruit mango snow ice came with cubes of fresh mangoes, syrup jelly (which actually burst in your mouth upon biting) and nata de coco! And what's so good about this is that the snow ice is really flavoursome and doesn't contain any artificial colouring and flavouring! Though it's a little pricey as compared to a lot more kinds of snow ice out there, this is worth it! continue reading

My friend and I are shopping in Plaza Singapura and our tummies are growling at the end of all the shopping. It is still too early for dinner, so we had dessert first. We went down to the basement where Ji De Chi is at for our desserts. It has been a very long while since I had peanut paste, hence I decided to order that for a change. The pastes are served very quickly, and luckily both my friend and I ordered that. The peanut tastes very nutty, thick and aromatic. The paste is not too sweet, just of the right level of sweetness and it is very nice. I probably enjoyed it so much because I am hungry and I havent had this for a long time. Nonetheless, it is money well spent as I finished every drop of the peanut paste. continue reading

I like this dessert stall only selectively for a few of its items. Having tried several items on the menu, I have had mixed pleasant and unpleasant experiences here. Yet I still frequent the place for a few particular items. I love, in particular, the Bean Curd with Walnut paste ($3.80). However I order it without the addition of syrup as the Walnut paste is already sweet itself. The combination of both is perfect, both the hot and chiller version.Besides that, the Mango Roll is good too. Heard the Durian one is not too bad. The skin is not too thick but with thick mango chunks. But at times the mango might be quite sourish It is advisable to give some of the items a miss such as the Coconut Jelly, the Green Tea Mousse and the Osmanthus Jelly. Overall, the range of varieties is quite wide and reasonably-priced. continue reading
