Introduction
Joe & Dough was founded in 2009 with the dream to make good coffee and sandwiches accessible to everyone. We don't do a whole lot, but what we do, we do it right with a great deal of care, sincerity and pride. We like to turn the daily routine of coffee and sandwiches into a bespoke treat. From sourcing the best Arabica beans that we grind on demand to insisting on baking our own breads and choosing only the finest ingredients, we serve coffee and food that we are genuinely proud of. Ultimately, we believe that there is no secret ingredient for great taste, just good, honest food and coffee made by people who care. continue reading

It's probably best that you come here for an early lunch because the lunchhour queues at Joe & Doe are quite hectic. The cafe isn't that sizeable too, so it's not easy getting a table at lunch time. I ordered a Caffe Latte and a Dark Chocolate Cupcake for tea. Just from the foam on the latte, you can tell that the barista is rather skillful. The dark chocolate cupcake was also very moist and rich - definitely a must-try if you're a chocolate fanatic like me! =D continue reading

Finding a clean, quiet place with affordable coffee and pastries in the CBD isn't easy as most coffee places are filled with office executives waiting to satisfy their caffeine craving. Tucked at a corner of Hitachi Tower level 2, this little cafe is little known to those who do not work at this building.Specializing in fresh gourmet coffee, I had their Cafe Latte ($5.30) for a quick perk-me-up in the heat of the mid-day which made me felt sleepy. As simple as it is, the coffee is completed with a lovely heart-shaped latte art which brightened up my day. While sipping on the latte, I can taste that it is perfectly roasted from the aroma and the right amount of frothed milk, giving it a wholesome and creamy texture. I wanted something sour to wake my senses up and I thought the Tangy Lemon Curd Tart ($3.80) would be just perfect. The crust of the tart was good I thought since it doesn't break into tiny flakes when I cut it open. However, I thought the lemon curd can be even more sour as the tangy citrus was pretty mild for my preference. With this price, I thought it was just right as their pastries are very affordable and of great value.Overall, Joe & Dough would be a great place if you need a place for coffee as it's inexpensive and the cafe is conducive for meetings over coffee. I would definitely come back to try their sandwiches and other of their coffee selection too. Service wise, the staffs are very attentive to clear up tables once customer leaves so other customers can have a place to seat and enjoy their coffee. continue reading

It was my first time trying out Joe & Dough. They have delicious sandwiches and pastries. This outlet is crowded during lunch time at Raffles place and they have limited seats. It took me a while to get a seat though. I ordered the Bacon mushroom melt. It came in a soft crusted texture bread. I love the bread. However, the sandwich in my opinion was too dry cause the cheese, mushroom and bacon combination was too dry. I also ordered a vanilla velvet drink which was one of their most ordered. Choices can be between vanilla, caramel or hazelnut. Will try their other Sandwiches the next time! continue reading

Found out this hidden gem 3 years ago while i was still working at the CBD. It was newly open and they didnt have much customers then, but they had the best eclairs and homemade yogurt. A pity they stopped doing it after a year or so as it isnt as popular. Normally the eclairs are filled with the thick and sweet cream but the chocolate in it is chocolate instead of cream - they are selling it under catering - not sure if its still the same but i sompa, its good! I doubt their handmade yogurt is still available, its quite costly but its of good quality. Hopefully they can bring back again? They serve mushroom soup on Mondays, and minestrone soup on the later week. Their mushroom soup is better than the minestrone and they are certainly not stingy with the button mushrooms. Their minestrone soup is thick but they isnt much ingredients in it - i prefer mine to have chunks of stuff in it. Lastly, i am a loyal fan to bacon mushroom melt, i am not familiar with what kind of bread is that, didnt fancy the rest of the bread, so i've stuck with this since 3 years ago? And i love the service there too. Even when i am dressed shabbily, they still give the same service to other people who are wearing suits. continue reading

I constantly sauce for good breakfast, and Joe & Dough is one of the cafe that I go back frequently. They serve a variety of sandwiches, wraps etc, and lots of people take away their coffee too. I had the Ham and Cheese Croissant ($3.80) the other day. Nothing complicated, but it's simply good. The croissant is crispy on the outside, and very buttery taste inside. Love the texture! I had the Daily Brew Coffee ($3.20) to go with the croissant. The coffee tastes just nice, not too acidic or sour after-taste. And it's served in a very big cup too. Good dose of caffeine hey! continue reading
