This place was HUGEEE!! Nothing fanciful about the layout and decoration, it was just like a very big canteen, very spacious. There was function rooms catered for big groups as well, coz we caught glimpse of the rooms and saw that there was a company function going on.We had ordered Fresh Pork Collar ( $22 for 200g) & Anchange, which was Wagyu beef ( $49 for 160g) to share among ourselves. With the order of any bbq meat, it will come with free side dishes.I was quite taken aback by the number of side dishes. They were filling enough themselves. And to think that, I was still pondering whether 360g of meat was enough to feed the 2 of us initially.. haha Potato SaladOne of the few dishes that was not"tainted" by chili. A dish that we had to "fight" for it since both of us dun really take spicy food.. =pCold TofuThis dish was still alright despite the hideous appearance... The tofu so smooth that it slided down the throat! The BBQ meatThe waitress would help to bbq, which was so comforting to know! Not to mention, the meat were quite expensive, I sure dun wan to cha da ( overcook) those expensive meat slices... HeheThe meat were delicious, especially the beef ( the darker colored ones). The beef were really juicy & chewy, it tasted even better when served piping hot! The pork were still okay, but it became tougher to chew when left to cool down.To read more and view pictures, please visit http://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg/2009/02/korean-charcoal-bbq-restuarant.html continue reading

was here on a weekend with my friends for the buffet lunch. The place is really huge with a lot of seatings. Shouldn't be a problem to get a seat even without reservation Side dishes. I love the kimchi, tofu and fish cake!We ordered quite a variety of meat (although not all reflected in the photo) and they are Pork belly, Pork Collar, Marinated Chicken and Wagyu Beef Rib Eye. My favourite will be Pork belly and Marinated Chicken! highly recommended Staffs were very friendly and they helped us BBQ all the meat. Gotta say they are very attentive. Also each of us are entitled to have a complimenary soup. I ordered Kimchi Tofu Soup ( no photos ) and it is the best kimchi soup i had in sg! if you are kimchi lover, you should order this! Desserts that are served after you ask for bill. Have no idea what the dish is call, but it is a very refreshing kinda tea. It has a very sweet and pleasant taste. Also, heart shaped watermelon are so cute!! Overall, i have a good experience here. Will definitely come back again continue reading

This time around we went there for Unlimited BBQ, available from Monday – Thursday, $35++ for Adult and $19++ for children (0.9-1.2m). You can choose from Pork Collar, Pork Belly, Marinated pork & Marinated chicken for the meat selection. Together with this Unlimited BBQ, each one of the diners can choose one of soup selection: Kimchi soup with pork, soyabean soup, tofu soup with seafood, cold soup noodle, spicy dried cold noodle and seafood noodle. As Little Devil ('LD') and I have other appointment afterwards, we decided to ask the service staff to do the BBQ-ing for us. The thing about JSJE is they are not 'stingy' about their bachan (side dish). You'll get the spinach, kimchi, summer salad, salads with dressing, tofu, mash potatoes, marinated radish, seaweed soup, pickled onions, fresh vegetables, garlic and chilli to wrap the BBQ meat. All the side dish are home made, fresh and you can have as much as you want; It will be replenish as soon as you are finished. The pork belly here is the thick version. It is nicely done with good charred on the meat, while the texture remain juicy and succulent. The same can be said for the pork collar. The BBQ chicken is well marinated, it is BBQ to perfection. Slightly crispy charred on the outside, but succulent on the inside. For unlimited BBQ, JSJE has a promotion of 50% discount on the beef option. We decided to order Wagyu beef for $29.50 discounted from $59. The beef was cooked to medium, it is tender and juicy, however does not reach the stage where it melts in your mouth. A bit disappointing, I expect the Wagyu is of higher grade and the restaurant should have more experienced in BBQing the meat. Luckily we are only paying half price. As I don't fancy kimchi or spicy soup, LD ordered a beef soup for me. The broth of the soup is robust and well seasoned. The beef has been cooked for a long period until it is tender and fell of the bone. It is very common that kids in Korea to drink beef soup as it provide extra nutrition for them. To end the meal, they will serve you the heart shape watermelon and cold ginger cinnamon sweet tea. Service staff in the restaurant is good, friendly and capable. You can see from the way they bbq our meat. However, I can't say the same about the unfriendly receptionist they posted on the 1st floor. As it is located on the 2nd floor, from the main entrance you will only see stairs to climb up. However, if needed there is a lift to your right, after the Burger King. Overall, we find JSJE consistently provide good quality Korean food. For price, it might be slightly on the high side, however you are getting what you pay for. Service level can be improved, especially on the reception side. If you are nearby during lunch hour, JSJE provide a good value set lunch menu. First time trying ju shin jung. The outlet at east coast park is so huge there were barely enough customers to fill up half the place for lunch on a weekend. Service was good though, as the servers would attend to you every now and then by either replenishing your side dishes or helping you with the grill (you don't have to cook the meat yourself). Comes with a tofu soup which was good. Didn't particularly like the meat though, only 3 varieties to choose from (2 pork, 1 chicken) continue reading
