Introduction
KOI Cafe was established in 2006 and came to Singapore in 2007. The first outlet in Singapore was in Toa Payoh. Most of the ingredients used in the making of the drinks are imported from Taiwan, in a bid to bring the authentic taste of Taiwanese milk tea to locals.

Signature Dishes
I dropped by Koi to try out their latest fruit tea macchiato drinks. There is a choice of flavours: peach, passionfruit and mango. I was initially worried about how artificially sweet the fruit tea may turn out so I decided to avoid the peach macchiato and went ahead to order the passionfruit macchiato ($3.20, medium cup) with no sugar. I personally like passionfruit flavour, but some people not be able to accept the slightly sour taste of passionfruit- advisable to up the sugar level to suit your preference.I was actually quite delighted by this refreshing drink. The passionfruit tea had a nice balance of passionfruit and fragrant tea taste, topped with their tasty and creamy milk top floating on top. The drink comes with a small knife opener for you to poke a hole on the plastic covering for you to sip the macchiato, but I personally prefer to drink it with a straw. To ensure I slurp up the milk and tea parts, I move my straw up and down the cup- so I do not end up just drinking the tea and neglecting the milk top!

I was window shopping at Compass point, walked past KOI and saw that there was no queue so decided to pop by and get something to drink. I picked the ice cream chocolate without pearls $3.90. Chocolate drinks does not have a sweetness level we can choose when placing order. The chocolate drink was quite thick and creamy...blends extremely well with the vanilla ice cream...yumilicious!

Whenever I go to KOI, I always order their vanilla milk tea with pearl,70% sugar level.KOI is one of my favourite drink especially vanilla milk tea.The queue is always there for KOI Cafe, but to me it's worth the wait. Although the queue can be quite long, but the staff are really efficient and the queue move quite fast. The pearls are nice too, very chewy. The sweetness of their milk tea is just right unlike other milk teas. I enjoyed my vanilla milk tea today ^^

One the left: Ovaltine milk tea . Ovaltine is a type of chocolate, i think. The sugar level is zero per cent. Still, the drink is mildly sweet as the chocolate itself is already loaded with sugar as ingredient in it . One the right: Honey milk tea . It doesn't have a sugar level preference as the honey itself is already very sweet . And yes, the drink is much sweeter than the ovaltine that has no extra added sugar syrup in it. Still, people would still like it if they prefer sweet drinks or honey .--SGD 2.9 for each (m)
