We turned up to the cafe without booking on a busy Sunday brunch time. Seeing how busy was the cafe, we didn't actually put any hope in getting a seat. Unexpectedly, the manager tried his very best to accommodate us, with a very friendly attitude. He said: "I don't really like to turn customer away.. but the service might not be as good.. coz we have a really busy day.. hope you understand that". But guess what?! The service was actually superb! The waitresses attended to us fairly quick, and we didn't wait too long for our food to be served! The cafe is set up according to a 'green house' concept. Surrounded by greens, it creates a relaxing atmosphere. We started the brunch with Truffle mushroom soup ($10). The aroma of truffle enhanced the overall flavour! I like the chunky bits of button mushroom and shiitake mushroom too. For main, I ordered the signature dish crab cake benedict ($16). The crab cake is seasoned so well, and crispy outside. Too bad the poached eggs were a bit too cooked, which they didn't have the runny yolks. Otherwise, with the coconut curry hollandaise, it would make a unforgettable dish for sure! My hubby ordered the seafood spaghetti ($22) for his main. The spiced prawns and fish were so fresh. You got to love the coriander curry leaf pesto sauce too! It's very unique and you can barely taste it elsewhere I reckon. Thumbs up! I had a cup of coffee ($4) to go with the dessert. For dessert, we had VLT ($12) and Fudge cake ($12). VLT is actually a pistachio sponge cake, with vanilla parfait, lemon, tyhme and some crumbles. The waitress would pour the warmed sauce on the dessert in front of you. To our surprise, the sourness of the sauce is very refreshing! As a whole, VLT has layers of different flavours, complicated taste yet unique. Fudge cake was served with espresso brulee and orange blossom ice-cream. Nice but the portion is a bit too small for its price I reckon. With a good atmosphere and great service, I would definitely coming back Krish for more good food continue reading
