Was driving along the stretch, when I chanced upon LeBan HK Cafe, which I wanted to visit quite some time back. Not giving it a miss this time!

Out of curiosity, we ordered the Salted Egg Fries ($5.90). Much more like creamy salted egg sauce poured over the cheese. Something out of the ordinary, and its pretty good!

Crispy Butter Bun with Condensed Milk ($4.00). Comparing with the menu illustration, it seem that the condense milk was either forgotten, or evaporated... Nevertheless, it tastes deliciously sweet!

Swiss Sauce Chicken Wings ($6.90). Guess they are trying to make it taste like sweet & sour pork. Sauce is good, but quite bland in taste for the rest beneath the skin.

Pork Chop Baked Rice in Creamy Sauce ($8.90). You can opt for tomato sauce too.

Sizzling Crispy Noodles with Jumbo Prawns ($8.50). I didn't get to try it, but received feedback that it is not bad. Quite a big portion, I have to say...

"LeBan" in direct translation to Chinese, is known as Happy Boss. Perhaps they can also call it "LeKe", which means happy customers! Food is good, though menu is quite limited. Sides are interesting and yummy, and mains are not disappointing too
What's more?? Opening till late makes it another favorite supper spot for me!

The crispy noodles here are anything but crispy. Didint like this dish at all as the presentation was not only messy but the noodles did not even taste good. The noodles looked and tatsted as if it had been covered in sauce for too long thus making it soggy and the noodles were not fried enough hence the noodles still looked yellow. The sauce was too starchy and the only plus point was the prawns.

LeBan used toasted buns (Man Tuo 馒头) instead of the usual thick french toast slathered in butter and sweetened milk. It tasted good with the gooey centre when its warm. Don't leave it to cool, unless you prefer a rough bun.

Oh, drool at the sweet and hearty toast bites! The deep fried breaded cubes was light and airy. I think it was drizzle with some honey/maple syrup and served with a scoop of new zealand natural ice cream (choice of Choc Fudge Brownie, Cookies & Cream, Vanilla Classic, Green Tea, Boysenberry Dream, Mango Sorbet, Strawberry Surprise). Mmmm, so simple and lovely.

Seafood Baked Rice in Cream Sauce @ $9.80
A succulent mix of seafood in cream sauce baked with rice and cheese was lacking in flavours. I felt the seafood and rice did not adsorbs the cream sauce flavours, maybe this was because the cream sauce was too little.

The baked rice is available in tomato and creamy base.

Chili Cheese Fries @ $6.50
Not your ordinary cheese fries. Leban's chilli cheese fries is topped with Chef's special chili, oven baked with cheese.

Honestly I am overdosed with all the creamy and salted egg dishes at Irivin's therefore I must admit that I do not enjoy this cheesy fries as much.

Crispy noodles with prawns served on hot plate was less flavorsome. Personally, I felt the tomato was too overpowering for me. Having said that, everyone has their own prerogative and preference, its definitely not awful as Melissa finished the whole serving by herself!

Fried breaded ice cream topped with chocolate rice. Hot on the outside, cold on the inside. An awesome combination.

With a variety of ice cream flavours to choose from - Vanilla, Cookies & Cream, Green Tea, Choc Fudge Brownie.

The vanilla ice cream drowned in freshly brew espresso was simply divine! The sweetness of the coffee was just right and paired so well with the ice cream. This is a MUST TRY!

- My Opinion
LeBan is a great place for snack and dessert. Great place for night owl as it closed at 2am.

After previous visit to Irvin's Live Seafood House for its famous value for money $12 All You Can Eat Lunch Buffet, me & my friends decided to check out its dinner buffet for a belated birthday celebration. Apparently, Irvin's outdid its lunch buffet offering with additional steamboat choices on top of its usual lunch spread for a pretty decent price of $18.50.

While at Irvin's, it's hard to miss LeBan HK Cafe, the latest addition to the stretch of eateries at Jalan Leban. Although Leban is a malay word, its pronunciation sounded like 'Happy Boss' in Chinese Pinyin language. Basically, the owner hopes that all guest will enjoy their dining experience at the cafe and leave feeling like happy bosses!

We decided to go for this newbie instead. True to its name, the cafe had a simple but cheerful interior.

Started with a refreshing Blueberry Lagoon while ordering our main dishes.

The health conscious can have their EYV (Eat your Vegetables) Juice.

There were a few dishes that were recommended by Stephenie, our friendly marketer from LeBan. I went for something less adventurous - Pork Chop Baked Rice in Cream Sauce ($8.90). This dish had to be served and consumed while its piping hot to fully appreciate the cheesy texture of the mozzarella. I was able to taste a slight hint of chicken stock which was used instead of water during the rice cooking process. Its actually Pork Chop Chicken Rice Baked in Cream Sauce!

My friend ordered Vermicelli with Pork Cartilage in Fish Soup ($6.20). It was a rather healthy dish with a light (& pretty boring) soup base.

But the special marinated pork cartilage that accompanied the noodles was an absolute knock out. The marinated meat was juicy, tender and flavourful. This divine piece of marinated pork cartilage honestly deserves a more fitting staple.

The next main that came along was Seafood Spaghetti In Tomato Sauce ($7.90). It had a generous helping of clams, prawn and squid over the pasta but there is something fundamentally wrong with the dish. My friend who ordered this managed to pinpoint it down to 'trying to prepare western spaghetti using traditional Chinese style of cooking'. It just tasted weird.

The final main Sizzling Porkchop in BBQ Sauce ($8.90) turned out to be our overall favourite main dish for the evening. The rich BBQ sauce added a dulcet flavour to the succulent pork chop. I wished I have ordered this instead - its so good!

After we were done with our main dishes, we ordered a serving of Fries With Salted Egg Yolk Sauce ($5.90) to munch leisurely over post dinner chit chat. Our verdict: salted egg yolk sauce taste good with practically anything but between fries and chips. Ditch the fries.

Stephenie was really sweet to surprise my friend Gabriel with 2 huge balls to celebrate his birthday!

These balls were actually Sun Fried Ice Cream ($4.00) and diners get to choose from 5 different flavours: Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Cookies & Cream, Vanilla Classic, Green Tea or Strawberry Surprise. Relished the unique taste experience when I took in a mouthful of hot crispy outer skin with the cold, soft milky ice cream interior.

A BIG Thank You to Stephenie for being such a wonderful host. We really enjoyed our birthday dinner at Leban.

Thrilled to be labelled as a 'Very Interesting Person' by Leban! I now get to enjoy 10% every time I visit the Irvin's or LeBan. Awesome
