Signature Dishes
Located at West Coast Mall, this tiny place is always crowded during weekends. They serve good teppanyaki dishes, and fresh lobster dishes too! We have ordered the lobster set meal which includes a Live Boston Lobster, a choice of Teppanyaki meat, beansprouts, lobster miso soup and rice. The lobster flesh is so fresh and tender, very satisfying! Their meat dishes are delicious too. We had the chicken and the black pepper pork. The chicken is yummy but the pork is slightly dry texture and hard to chew. Lobster miso soup consists of a generous amount of lobster flesh, and the soup is very flavourful and tasty. Instead of the normal Japanese rice, you can order the garlic rice as well.

Have a lunch set at Live@Teppan located in B1 at West Coast Plaza. The set consist of a Live Boston Lobster, a meat of your choice (beef, chicken or pork), Vegetables, Chawanmushi, Lobster Miso soup and Fried Garlic Rice. The restaurant is quite small with only 1 Teppanyaki counter. As it was a weekday afternoon, the place is only a handful of tables are occupied and there is only one chef manning the Teppanyaki counter.Although not crowded, the service is a bit slow and the serving sequence seems quite chaotic. After being offered with a drink of Japanese green tea. I was served with the Fried Vegetables, without any rice!Upon finishing the vegetable dish, I have to wait again for next dish, the sliced beef which is quite ok. The Garlic Fried was served shortly. The chef than started to cook the live Boston Lobster. The cooking itself must be a spectacular scene as the Chef cut and start to deshell the lobster. Upon removing the head and part of the body shell, seasoning and wine was pour into the shellfish with resulted in a huge flames sprouting out. The scene certainly caught the attention of all the diners around and you can feel the heat if you sitting at the counter.Being a live lobster, the meat is fresh and succulent with the natural sweetness intact even after the cooking. It is certainly the highlight of the whole meal. The pincers have also been cracked,, making removing the flesh quite a breeze. The lobster head and shell are being prepared into a soup with Miso which is served only after I have finished my rice. And so is the Chawanmushi! The soup is overpowered by the Miso and I could hardly taste the sweetness of the lobster in the broth. A lesser seasoning will be more ideal as to bring out the natural fresh and sweetness of the lobster. The Chawanmushi although hot and decent was nothing to shout about. The lack of a desert or fruit somehow make the set meal incomplete. It will be good if they serve some fresh fruits to end it all.Overall, it is a decent meal but compliment must go to the fresh lobster which is good and decent in size for the price.

There are not many teppanyaki restaurants left in Singapore that offers a wide range of delicious teppanyaki food. At this restaurant, we got to sit and watch the chef prepare the food in front of us. The ingredients were also fresh and the squid was very sweet. one word to describe all this: YUMMY!!!!!
