i love the cheese shaving that topped the pizza, very cute and adorable. makes it even more appealing!

the service was great, the waitress was very friendly and we did not wait long for our food.

the environment was comfy and relaxing to enjoy a hearty meal!!

Today, my pals went out to order the salami pepperoni spicy pizza (originally $17.90) which wasn't spicy at all - OK, just a teeeeny bit, but it tasted quite thick in its bite although it really is very thin. The pepperoni was all large and huge, and the taste was all OK without additional cheese! Quite a light pizza to be able to finish it all, compared to thick Pizza Hut. Quite surprise that there wasn't any hint of much garlic here!

I ordered the grilled pizza (originally $18.90+) to try. It came in a long plate, which in size should be slightly smaller than the round sized pizza. Managed to finish it all swipe it clean, that pizza topped with fresh black mushrooms so fresh once you bite, all the clear juices comes out, and the mozzarella cheese which was given at a nice portion. It was topped with sweet chilli - don't be afraid, it's not spicy at all seriously! - and pepperoni and bacon bits, not bad pizza!

My other friend by my recommendation is the mushroom chicken risotto! The only difference this time is that, it doesn't look as much as the time I first ate - maybe because of the voucher
so they do cut down the portion! Last time I couldn't even finish, this time it looked quite small although the chicken and taste still do not change which is great. Refer to my old post, everyone gave a thumbs up for this risotto man!

Lemon teas as our drinks: usually I could really taste the lemon, this time round they added too much ice, and water? It has started to taste a bit too plain than the old strong taste of lemon. Hope they can amend on this!

This time, I tried something simple, the garlic holic rice. I wanted something spicy to keep me wake all night, so the simple garlic holic rice with 3 chillis on the side was a choice. It's originally $15.90+, but with the coupon, it has the price flat way cheaper with a drink included - the usual lemon tea.

When it came, it was werved in a hot plate, and topped with a LOT of fried garlic. Talk about totally mad mad for garlic! It was standard though, There was only rice, and almost not a hint of 'meat/filling' of it, rice was dominating overall. And the garlic/onion was making is so bitter, as it was prolly over-fried/cook, and it wasn't spicy at all! This was 3 chillis and after asking a request to make it extra super spicy, there was no difference. I'm not impressed with this dish, and its the cheapest from the whole rice menu anyways.
Must learn from mistake to never buy this menu!

I guarantee the other menus are much more super!!!

It seemed unique to us, inviting my boyfriend and I to step in and gave it a shot. We had a Garlic Snow Pizza which was so damn awesome and a Lobster Pasta(garlic cream sauce + fish roe) which was quite appetizing too.

My favorite part about the pizza was the garlic chips topped across the pizza, crispy like cornflakes and it really completed the wholeness of garlic. Ending with a sweet aftertaste.

However the lobster pasta had limited lobster meat, I'm pretty certain there were only 3 pieces of bite-sized meat in it. The linguine, cream-sauce and fish roe went well together though.

Delish dinner. I'm sure it'd have been even better with wine.

I first encountered the place, briefly saw first in Suntec, where it was such a secretive place because it's at the end, and it's surrounded by retail stores instead of restaurants, but my cousin told me that it was visible instead when passing from the bus at the Suntec Boulevard (seen from outside).

Anyhow, I went here for my birthday celebration; I usually choose places that looks great but won't spend too much as I have a budget! But as I'm a trained eater to scour great places, and this is new, my family never knew such restaurant exists. It's my first time to eat there as well, but I had my faith in them as I'm a Korean freak, and by knowing that it was a Korean branch I immediately set foot to the manager and planned all out.

There were hiccups when planning, I went to the place about a month before D-day and the manager didn't get back to me after two weeks of a request to create a menu with my budget. It was annoying to wait for the reply and I went there again and finally he got back to me.

D-day itself, the place was pretty full, and they're prepared the long table for me. The environment was nice and it looks like a very expensive bistro place, however the price range is just amazingly unbelievable for a place like this. The private room is awesome as well, but it only can cater 8 seats

Journey of eating garlic, start!

Starters were choice of Garlic Bread Tower and Caesar Salad.
Let me tell you how I was surprised when they served the starters!

Garlic Tower was not the usual garlic bread we get to see in most restaurants: sliced and topped with melted cheese/garlic/butter/etc. It was placed vertically, with all the garlic topping on top. You may wonder how you'll be able to eat it/how to slice it and share, but the waitress would suddenly smash the top and chuck everything inside - it's like destroying the bread! But there it was, served mixed with the garlic all over inside.

Note: I'm a garlic lover, I can eat garlic cloves like that when steamed (like in bakuteh or samgyeopsal) so nothing's too heavy for me here. And it's healthy! So it tastes just nice for me and i know it's healthy.

The next was Caesar salad and boy, did I believe it now when the manager told me "starters are shared with 2" but it was enough for more than 4! It was huge in its platter (I'm not sure if they put two portions together or not because of the special request) but heck, it was big!
It had fresh green leaf vegetables, topped with large-sized croutons, delicious creamy sauce and cheese. It was really light and super delicious - the leaves were crunchy and it was very green; totally fresh-looking. I was impressed by it and managed to clean it all up.

The main courses varied from pasta, risotto and pizza. As they came, it all looked soooo enticing - it looks neat, clean and so delicious. I didn't manage to try all sorts of the main course, I couldn't finish mine - Chicken Mushroom Spicy Risotto. The chicken was delectable and juicy, the rice was thick and never that I have thought that it was really be spicy!
I thought that because Singaporean's tongue was not meant to be spicy, but hell, this one made me drink my free-flow ice drink (part of the deal) and as a new record, didn't manage to clean up my meal! I was so full. Get this if you want to really fill yourself!

A scoop of ice cream with biscuit waffle on top - it was a great finish to the whole meal. Make sure you get the cookies and cream - the vanilla is just normal.

I had a great time in a great place - my family was impressed with the restaurant and was ready to come back. They were again, impressed with my findings of good restaurants, being the Park Royal hotel buffet, Spice, for my birthday previously (a review given already!)

Really, for a great price with the ambiance that looks great enough to be an Italian restaurant in hotels, this is just amazing. The garlic was strong but not overpowering the taste, and it's pretty spacious too. I'm aiming to get the private room next time - it's not that hard, afterall!

PS: I'm visiting them pretty often, with their special promotion! With their $10 voucher, you get the main meal and a drink, with the usual price of $23.90!
They have a page in Gmarket Singapore where they sell the vouchers there for that price. It's amazing so YEAH ANOTHER GREAT PRICE OFFER!

Do get mad and go gaga over Mad for Garlic! They just recently re-opened from a renovation process from the 15th.

I was worried that Skinny Pizza has spoilt me for all other thin crust pizzas but MFG’s special Garlic Snowing Pizza ($16.90++) shot that theory to hell. Topped with shrimps and pineapples, the crust retained its crispness and I particularly love the baked cloves of garlic and honey-sweetened sauce. The thin flakes of garlic deserved a mention too! Kind of cornflakes, just so much more aromatic. If there’s only one thing I’d go back for, this is it.Though MFG is supposedly an Italian restaurant

Though MFG is supposedly an Italian restaurant, the Red Devil ($19.80++) is as un-Italian as it can get. Pasta with lots of prawns, clams, squids and… beansprouts! I have to say that this is the first time I come across the combination of beansprouts and pasta, and surprisingly they go quite well together. Clearly, this is a dish tweaked to suit the Korean tastebuds. Note that this is an extremely spicy dish, great for chili+seafood lovers!

The name of the restaurant says it all - a garlic themed restaurant set to satisfy your every garlic craving! For a garlic lover like me, that’s a very enticing promise indeed.

Now, the signboard may say “Italian Wine Bistro”, but take it with a pinch of salt. The restaurant originates from Korea, and if anything it is a Korean take on Italian rather then the authentic thing itself. The interior’s largely dark grey and almost gothic looking – it’s hard not to associate the place with vampires, what with the garlic and the almost dungeon-like interior. Racks of wine line the walls of the restaurant. Wine, garlic, Italian food and Korea – how very odd a mix!

The partner’s Garlicpeno Pasta ($13.80) is a simple dish of pasta with garlic, mexican pepper and chillies. It came with a three-chilli hotness rating on the menu and they mean it – I just tried a bit and found it very spicy! I have no idea how she finishes a plate of it but she apparently loves it and orders it time and again.

My Fresh Shrimp and Garlic Sprout Pasta ($16.90) was much less spicy, so I could appreciate the garlic flavour better. They’re not joking about the garlic – sauteed bits of garlic are everywhere. It got to the point where I had finished my pasta and I still had a spoonful of garlic left on my plate! That’s a good thing – for a place that dares to call itself “Mad for Garlic”, I expect nothing less. I throughly enjoyed the pasta, from the firm spaghetti (such a delight, especially after experiences with Asian/Japanese/Korean “pasta” being way too overcooked) to the fresh prawns and of course, to the heaps of garlic tossed throughout the dish. Very aromatic, and none of that zing from undercooked/raw garlic. Very, very addictive.

There’s a ton of other interesting sounding items too – from the Anchovy Garlic Cream Fondue to the Garlic Snowing Pasta, and I’m waiting for my next visit to try them. We were served by a trainee waiter, and there were some stumbles along the way, but the sincerity was unmistakable, so all was good.

I don’t know whether bringing a date here is a good idea, but hey, why not? I figure, if both of you smell like garlic, who is to know the better? ;)
