Looking for something quick and fuss-free for my lunch, I spotted Mei Wei Mixed Rice at the corner. Decided to try their homely and decent dishes which recommended by my colleague, the stall provided huge varieties. There was a short queue during lunch hours, I moved forward to see what dishes available then joined the lining up. If it was your turn but you are wandering what to eat, ladyboss will start recommending for you. Such friendly nice service was impressive, she appeared tolerant and patient. In order to save time, I decided to take away my lunch. Simply picked my favourite Onion Scrambled Egg, Stir-fried Yam Bean and Chicken Curry, my lunch was luxury and flavourful. Decent pan-baked egg with peppery aromatic, I like the combination to accompany curry gravy. Shredded Yam Bean was cooked along with dried shrimps, texture was soft and tasted not bad. Lunch box was $2.50, cheap and common hawker price for me. continue reading

I liked it when they made an effort to pour the curry sauce completely over the white rice. I ordered my usual steamed egg, prawn paste chicken and sweet & sour pork. Every dish was cooked nicely to give it the homecooked taste. The pricing is economical coupled with the varieties of dishes to make this a perfect stall for a homecooked meal away from home. I will be back. continue reading

A quick dinner before headed off for a rally at Commonwealth. Most of the stalls have already closed at 6pm and this is one of the stalls that still in operation. I was contemplating whether to have duck rice or mixed vegetable rice but decided to go for latter as i spotted a queue of few people in front of the stall.Ordered my usual favourite: steamed egg, sweet and sour porks and prawn paste chicken. The nicest gotta be the prawn paste chicken, nicely fried and well marinated. The sweet and sour porks were not disappointing though but the steamed egg was pretty average. Curry sauce was flavorful. Worthy trying if you are hungry and happen to be in the vicinity. continue reading
