Finally got to try this stall as there was an empty seat next to it. Otherwis eyou have to carry the steamboat to wherever you're sitting and it's tricky since there's a fire under the steamboat and it could topple. The fire can get quite hot and sting the eyes and nose if you get too close, as well as lick up the sides of the steamboat pot. At times, it's so hot you couldn't touch the pot or even go near it since the fire is so high! It doesn't come with instructions so I wasn't sure how to cook or eat it and just decided to use logic to figure it out.It comes served with rice, and a plate of what you wanted in the steamboat. There are lots of varieties to choose from and you can choose to top up more ingredients. It costs about $5 on average. The soup comes in plain, spicy, and 2 other types which I forgot.I had the normal soup with fish. It comes with an egg, mushrooms, fish slices, cabbage and sausages and meatballs. First I tried to swish the food around like shabu shabu but then decided it wasn't cooking so I dunked the whole lot it and broke the egg in as well and let it boil till the fire ran out. I guess that worked as everything got well-cooked.The fish was fresh and very tasty. A bit too thinly sliced. The soup was slightly bland but I preferred it to very salty or MSG overdose soup.On the whole, it was interesting and I might try it again! It was a very well balanced meal and quite fun, except for the fire threatening to burn me.Recommended! continue reading
