I had another group outing, the second in this week and everyone suggested mr curry at marina square, apparently my this group of friends does have a thing for curry so off we went to mr curry. I did not think twice, I will order my omelet rice. This time I decided to try out something new, the chicken and mushroom omelet rice. It was good. As usual, I opted for the safe choice and took the original and spicy curry. I really enjoy my meal and I can have it everyday!!!

As you can see from the photos... the food are indeed lousy and and pathetic. Although the restaurant named themself 'MR CURRY', but their curry are not thick and fragrant at all. Super disappointment. Have the feeling of being short changed. Will give my verdict: 3/10

the service was also very good, i didnt have to wait long for me food to be served and the waiters were very attentive as well.

fortunately for me, i had a dbs debit card and i enjoy 10% discount!

Order wise, tried their Curry Sukiyaki, seemed more like a normal beef stew in a claypot (especially with all that veges) and lack curry taste. It would be help if they could enhance the curry taste or allow customers to choose a spicier level for curry, like their other curry rice dishes.

I'm not sure about their other items but the sukiyaki was...

Having been to this and their Central Mall branch, I feel the service and food from their Central Mall branch, is better.

Reminds me of the Hongkong baked rice resto which always has a long, long queue in Vivo there but the twist here is using curry sauce, which is different from that particular restaurant.

This time, I feasted lunch with my friends and we agreed to choose different things! We were staaaarving anways.

Mr. Curry's menu serves a variety of things, it's a fusion of

the usual indian food + japanese creativity for cute things = mr. curry

Naan bread into a pizza-like meal, sandwiches, rice bowls and refreshing japanese style desserts and drinks are all in a menu.
I ordered the Mushroom Risotto ($10.80) as I have an endless pit for a tummy, thinking that it should be as filling as Mad for Garlic's risotto which I didn't get to finish! (see my review about it~). My friend ordered the curry rice with fried salmon cheese ($12.80). My other friend ordered (i forgot the name!) but it was sauce inside the bread bowl with fries.

It didn't take long for our meals to arrive, mine being the first, served in a interesting clay bowl. It was served with pickles and the pickles were good and tasty! It's sour but absolutely refreshing but sadly it was really a spoonful serve

As for my risotto, it was a bit more watery than MFGarlic's and smaller in portion. The taste was pretty good though with lots of mushrooms topped on it.
However, my friend's with original curry sauce salmon fried rice was much better in taste (i think its because of cheese and its fried) and the curry sauce is nice! I have yet to try the other 3 sauces, black, white, and ... forgot!
The other was more of a unique kind of food presentation, but taste was just OK; friend's verdict on the bread tastes cheap; it doesn't taste nice together or it looks like those supermarts bread. but the fries were good, reminding me of Popeye's cajun style fries, frying it with the sauce.

So the food verdict overall, was just a nice eatery at a higher price because it's a restaurant.

The downside however was the service. The girl who served me couldnt' speak english at all, and just as nonchalant in talking chinese, even addressing me in chinese which I didn't understand until my friend nudged me saying "hey shes talking to you" asking which menu did I order. I pointed to her 3 times and she asks about it again. Plus, she was wearing like home slippers in black - isn't that a bit disturbing for a uniform waitress to wear sandals while working, in a Waraku subdivision? Surely they do not want this to happen, a waitress serving guests who can't communicate both sides and looks unprofessional in looks.

The second encounter was with the skinny Indian guy I remember back then, came to us and offered on the DBS promotion. We kindly said no, and we'll order again after we finish our meal in case we got full. He was pulling out the menus and stuff, somewhat rough gesture. After we finished our meal, he came over and again, pestered on adding another $9 to get the promotion, pulling out the menus and asks "are you sure you do not want to add more we have desserts etc."
