Obolo used to have only 1 outlet located at Joo Chiat, but now they have more, and have introduced miniature cakes and dessert shooters, which is a good idea as one might be sick of eating the whole cake at one go, or would like to try many different flavours. I love their petite cakes, as I get to have 6 different flavours instead of one, and it is not too sinful to eat each one at a go. My favourite would be Le Cassis - the purple one with a velvety taste to it, and the mango passionfruit chee

When in need of desserts or even presents, the simplest solution is to turn to Obolo. Personally I would rate their standards to be pretty high-end. It's not just about the food, but also about the entire packaging and experience. To be frank, I received the below set of Macarons as a gift:And since this was a gift, I hvnt any idea how much it costs. I'd guess it's most likely a luxurious price tag for a box of mararons, but I'm also guessing most people would think this very price tag won't make

And since this was a gift, I hvnt any idea how much it costs. I'd guess it's most likely a luxurious price tag for a box of mararons, but I'm also guessing most people would think this very price tag won't make the cut for an exquisite gift. The fact was, when I received it, I felt like it was the best gift.

The packaging is just luxurious, with pink words and some designs embossed on a black background. The macarons put together resemble a happy rainbow. The melt-in-your-mouth texture and heavenly taste made me feel very privileged. I almost couldn't stop myself from finishing the whole box the moment I opened it - the only way I did it was to tell myself to drag this privilege over a longer period of time so that I could count more blessings with it.

Obolo used to be one of my favourite cake shops, located at joo chiat. In recent years they opened new outlets, one at serangoon, and came up with mini cakes and dessert shooters - priced at around $15.90 for a box of 6. Not a bad idea, as one would not have to finish one whole serving at a go, which may be quite 'jelat'; also, will be able to try lots of flavours. Would recommend the mini cakes more than the dessert shooters though.

This Obolo is a better appointed space and less cramped than its sister outlet in 112 Katong Mall, and the staff here are much mote friendly and helpful too. They bothered to recomnend the popular items and offered swaps, unlike the two women at the 112 Katong Shop that we visited on 31/12 who rolled their eyeballs and rattled off names of the mini dessert shooters without telling us what was inside. E.g. Amour, Passion??? Obolo's mini cakes and desserts are welcome gifts for party hosts and our

Obolo's mini cakes and desserts are welcome gifts for party hosts and our purchases were well received. The cakes were moreish and the petit sizes made them great to pass around and try several flavours. Dessert shooters were ok, not extraordinary. Ditto for cupcakes which were diabetically s

weet. If having the cupcakes it is better to discard the frosting if one doesnt want a sugar overload.
