This old chang kee is different from other stall, here there is laska, curry rice, mee sian etc.. Their curry rice is surprisely nice, it is rich in favour and very thick... I like it a lot! It would be good if old chang kee open a spacious outlet with table so we can have local delight there.. I love old chang kee curry puff most.. Though ppl say the price has increase over the years, but the filling is generous, fresh and hot! continue reading

As usual I visit Old Chang Kee for their curry puffs which is my favourite snack from this place! The price however increased by 20 cents, now costing $1.40. I was lucky to have bought a curry puff that just got out fresh from the oven so it was still hot! The curry isn't really spicy so it tasted well with loads of potatoes inside. There are also chicken and a small egg inside it . The crust was really crispy too! continue reading

Early in the morning, my roomate bought me a Meesiam from Old Chang Kee. Actually, Meesiam for me as a Malaysian was fried and dried, but at Singapore here, Meesiam was normally in soup. Interestingly, Meesiam was made with Malay-style ingredients, with the addition of coconut milk, and presented and served in sour and spicy soup. The price was inexpensive for me, costed $1.80 per bowl. continue reading

It is really quite easy to satisfy my cravings for curry puffs since old chang kee have many outlets over the island. I ordered the Curry’O which is the default traditional curry puff consisting of potatoes, chicken and egg filling. The potatoes make up the bulk of the filling, so it can be quite a heavy snack to have. I usually share half with my daughter whenever I get the curry O. Taste wise, I enjoy the more firmer outer crust which gives away to the slightly mashed curried potato filling. However, I try to limit myself since it is not too good for the waistline. continue reading

Was feeling a bit hungry and craving for some snacks. So decided to take a teabreak while at work. So bought myself a stick fishballs from old chang kee.The fishballs are soft and tasty, a little 'Q'. And its not oily at all, can see that they are using rather fresh oil to do their cooking. Its really an ideal snack for a quick bite to satisfy my craving! continue reading
