Friend recommended that we grab a milkshake to round off our night of feasting. Went for a Baileys one and the amount of alcohol in that drink proved that they give a good size pour into that one. The result is a wonderful cooling drink with enough kick on the side. This drink is definitely a come-back-to!

Would always pop by Once Upon a Milkshake to visit my friend when she was working there. That was also when I fell in love with their milkshake. Love their oreo milkshake especially! Nicely blended with a generous serving of oreo. Such a great way to quech your thirst or just to chill out with your loved ones

I am on an ice cream trail, tasted quite a number of ice cream. Now my girlfriend and I are tasting once upon a milkshake ice cream and brownie. The ice cream is one of the nicest we have tasted, it is rich and creamy. The chocolate flavor is not too sweet, yet not bitter. It is really an enjoyable dessert!

The ice-cream was something different from the other places that I have tried. The names were funkily named and the ambience was unique. I enjoyed eating at the place because of the atmosphere. It was peaceful. I would definitely go back there again.

 It also means that they have all the quirky flavours that Singaporeans may enjoy! And the best part about them is the fact that it's "Once Upon a MILKSHAKE" and not "Once Upon an Icecream"! Yes, yes, I'm refering to the fact that you can have any of the flavours made into milkshake. You can even see their recipes posted on the wall. It's perfect portion of ice cream to milk. You won't be shortchanged of your ice cream I can assure you of that! It's really hard to find good milkshake places in Singapore and OUAM is the answer.

 Of course, we first had the grumbling raisins but with ever visit, we try a new flavour and somehow I always still come back to my favourite grumbling raisins. Nowadays the grumbling raisins flavour is often sold out but not to worry, there are always new flavours introduced every few months. It really depends on personal preference and since I don't like chocolate (yes!), I will only recommend that you try a new flavour every time till you find the one for you!

 What I really love about OUAM is their attention to the littlest detail. From the fairytale like decor to the names of the ice cream flavours (yes they're all fairytale related!) to even the name of the cashier! (It's Fairy Godmother!) How about the little flip and taken blocks for you to "chope" your tables while you're ordering!

 At the Maxwell branch, if you parked at the public carpark behind maxwell chambers, they'll even give you HDB parking coupon as rebate on weekends! Saturdays they have all candlelight dining hour which we haven't tried but always imagined to be the most romantic! They also do delivery if you work nearby like me but it's only after 3pm so ice cream for tea anyone? I'll definitely recommend introducing this place to yours and your colleague's palette. It's a great place to go to after lunch or after work!

This is a very nice dessert shop. My friend brought me here. Really nice interiors, like a hangout place but it only sells drinks and desserts...makes me feel like a fairy tale land, cause when i ate the sorbet it just melts in my mouth and I tried my friend's yoghurt waas really not bad cause I'm not a fan of yoghurt anything got to do with milk. Also, it was drizzling outside at the point of time, it looked misty on the glass walls, but really cozy in the inside. Im grateful my friend brought

You should try all their desserts and just drink plain water they do provide. cause their menu is all oh so sweet, a sweet drink maybe next time.

I've tried a few flavours of their milkshakes but I still love the Cerious Maple one. It may be too sweet for some but I like it! It's as if you're having cereal with maple syrup! The ice-cream is yummylicious too! You gotta try for yourself to believe it! They close at 11pm daily so you won't have to worry if you can't make it down to OUAM.

It's as if you're having cereal with maple syrup! The ice-cream is yummylicious too!

THE FOOD:

For those who prefer to bite instead, there's only scoops of ice cream and light snacks like chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cheesecakes.

Here, Once Upon A Milkshake pays homage to the sidekick of ice-cream by putting the spotlight on milkshakes instead. The little cafe situated along Maxwell Road serves up nine different milkshakes, each with its own accompanying character graphic. As you sip your milkshake, read the story snippets behind each of them.

Flavours include Agent Strawberry, Grumbling Raisins, Cerious Maple, Vainilla Pot, Spooky Mocha, Nutty Peanut Butler, Sir Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Truffle Castle and most recently, Pirate Queen Peach. They come in two sizes - mini (S$3.30) and regular (S$5.50).

A result of endless experiments and dedication of owner, Alvin Ng, as well as tested and approved by his kitchen guru of a mother, each OUAM drink is a generous portion of fruits and ice-cream hand-blended to a perfect smooth texture with New Zealand low fat milk. The richly flavoured milkshakes are almost meals in itself and can be replacement drinks for those who can't wake up in time for breakfast.

FreshGrads's favourite is Agent Strawberry, a refreshing mix of strawberry goodness without a hint of overkill. Other popular choices include Nutty Peanut Butter and Grumbling Raisins.

There have, however, been grumbles, not about the Grumbling Raisins, but with regards to Sir Cookies & Cream and Cerious Maple being a tad too sweet. But as from replied on their facebook page, they are making improvements to that.

THE MOOD:

Once Upon A Milkshake outlet along Maxwell Road is dressed in a simple but sophisticated stark white decor against a royal purple background and matching white furniture. Friends and family can be found resting their feet or simply chilling out there after a long day at work and school. An hour-long 'Ice cream by candlelight' held every Saturday at 8pm - 9pm also creates a cosy ambience for couples.

As part of its opening promotion, they are giving away a free 50cents parking coupon for every S$10 spent between 11am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays, which will definitely be appreciated by Singaporean drivers. Another good deal: Like many other food establishments, OUAM has adopted a rewards card system. For every S$3 spent, you get a stamp and 9 stamps exchanges for 1 ouam S$3 cash voucher.

I, an aquaholic, was delighted by the presence of a free-flow mineral water dispenser! After helping myself to a cup, I seated myself on a bench and enjoyed the peaceful ambiance of the joint- only occupied by five other patrons, it being 3pm on a weekday- while waiting for the cheery cashier to serve my order.

One sip of this milkshake left me certain that OUAM prepared its strawberry ice cream from fresh strawberries (unlike the artificially-flavored and totally unstrawberry-like version from McDonald's). I was initially surprised by how dense the shake was, but soon realized that this allowed me to pause between sips and enjoy the most of my shake without worrying about it melting away. Its viscosity soon grew on me though- I found myself relishing the thick and creamy shake. Thick milkshakes are served on default, but you can request for your milkshake to be thinner.

However, it was the lip-smackingly delicious tangy strawberry flavor of this shake that left the deepest impression on me. Kudos to the people who concocted this flavor- Agent Strawberry has definitely cracked the key to my affections!
