average brunch food at rochestor park. if you're looking for brunch options in this area - I'm going to have to point you to graze. this place was really rather meh, with uninspiring food and an ambience that made nothing of its gorgeous surroundings. if the other places around here are packed up, then perhaps you could come here - but otherwise I'm not sure there's any point.on hindsight (which this is, of course), there was nothing really wrong with the place so much as it was pretty boring. it isn't very expensive, the food wasn't bad - serviceable, really - and the place wasn't run down. it just felt like it had so much more potential to be fantastic! but alas.the eggs florentine came with its requisite runny yolk and sufficiently smooth hollandaise on toasted crumpets, with a side of dressed salad, and my caesar salad had romaine and a poached egg. I did like the poached egg - but I had taken up the option of chicken, and that came as minuscule pieces that did nothing for the salad. the desserts fared a little better, with stronger flavours and more impression of skill. the soufflé was sufficiently risen but held no clear hazelnut flavour; I give them kudos for a decent chocolate ice cream though. the platter of three desserts weren't too bad neither: the sticky date pudding was a better rendition than at jones the grocer, the praline a deep and not-too-sweet slice. I thought the pannacotta was the weakest - I can't even remember now what it was.that's the problem with the meal - it was rather humdrum. I certainly didn't dislike it - I wouldn't raise any issue if someone suggested coming here, but I almost definitely wouldn't be coming back on my own. not too expensive, and we were stuffed at the end of the meal - there's conceivably a mild recommendation hiding somewhere in this if you'd like one. continue reading

we ordered a 128 dollar set meal for two, excluding gst and service fee. the dishes looking all very nice. when you see the picture of the food, you will have the craving for that, hahahathe place is very romantic, which i also include one picture. staff is friendly while you may have one staff stand nearby just to serve you anytime. location is a bit far from mrt... so you may have to drive there. continue reading

Had the opportunity to try out a couple of dishes from One Rochester's menu courtesy of an invite from the Rochester group. In general, I thought food was pretty decent but nothing near fantastic except for the Twice Baked Gruyere Souffle, which was cheesy yet creamy with a nice souffle texture. But be sure to share as it might get a little nauseating if consumed in excessive quantities. If I do return, it will definitely be for the souffle. And the lovely alfresco dining ambience of course. continue reading

Scallop - Stone fruit chutney, frisee salad, ikura roe and citrus dressing : Juicy scallop, more please.Truffled brie and mascarpone tart - Zucchini tempura, truffle leek compote : Disappointed with the tempura which is not hot or crispy. The tart is actually puff pastry, top with cheese, tomato slices and the tempura. The leek compote tastes not bad.Sea bass fillet - Ginger, sauteed mushroom, spinach & almond puree and horseradish : The fish is fork-tender and juicy inside.Grain fed Angus - Braised short ribs and glazed beef fillet with caramelised onion compote and bordelaise syrup : The braised short ribs on top of the carrot puree is very fork-tender. The caramelised onion could have been softer if cooked longer. Caramel apple cheese cake bars - Eggless caramel cinnamon apple cake bars with toffee sauce : Multi layers of different textures. The top reminds me of muesli with its dried and chewy texture. Not the usual cheese cake. And a square piece of white chocolate to finish with.Steamed chocolate and banana pudding - Raspberry sorbetto and vanilla anglaise : The sorbetto seems to have melted by the time it serves. continue reading

Came here with my friendI had their baby chicken wrapped in prosciutto with a pine nut, raisin &truffle stuffing & also braised beef short rib with mashed potatoes. The chicken was tender & very flavourful. The beef had some potential but while it was fork tender, the actual flavour was quite ordinary & texture wise it was a bit stringy too.We also ordered their "The Grand Assiette dessert platter " which have 5 dessert I liked the creme brulee & the panna cotta,I could barely eat a few mouthfuls of the rest. , the lime souffle was too sour to a whole new level. I wouldn’t mind coming back again as food was quite niceOverall i rate 8/10 continue reading
