Dory Zuppa - $7.90. Pasta with poached dory in tomato spicy soup base. For the pasta, my friend chose linguine. The soup was warming, but spicy at the same time. The sliced dory was added generously. It was a great option when you get bored of ordering ordinary pasta.Beef Bolognese - $8.40. Pasta with tomato herb sauce and minced beef. I chose penne as my pasta. The penne was al dente, the beef was tender and the tomato sauce was quite tasty, not really sour. Basically bolognese can hardly go wrong for me. continue reading

Pastamania is an awesome place if you want a nice dinner or a quick lunch...This was exactly what i did a few nights ago.... Usually restaurants will be crowded on weeknights but not at thomson because the place is usually dead after 5...After a long day after my book outs... u just wanna chill and maybe have a good plate of pasta...Hmm just a bit of an insider for all...you can actually custom your pasta any way you like it.. The rest is up to you to decide and decipher...I had the Alfredo pasta sub the sauce to agilio olio style with more ginger and pepper... Haha i learnt this trick somewhere.. The service at Pastamania is still good but the menu has changed largely.. I can still remember the Japanese pastas back in the day...I always come back to Pastamania to see what i can customize... Prices may vary to the original cost.. continue reading

Most of the people may not know PastaMania is halal certified actually. It is a mixture of a fast food based restaurant and a regular restaurant because we need to place our orders at the counter instead of served by waiters. Before ordering a pasta dish, there are 5 types to choose, mainly Penne, Fusilli, Linguine, Spaghetti or Wholemeal Spaghetti. You may add on one of the Combo to make it a complete meal which including side dishes such as garlic bread, soup or drink. Except pastas, there are pizzas, baked rice, appetizers and desserts sold here. I ordered Chicken Bolognese, costed $8.20, with Combo C which added-on $3.90.The pasta was served very quickly; I think within 10 minutes after ordering. Look at the Juicy Spagetti!! It was more delicious than what I expected.PastaMania's pastas are affordable yet the portion of pastas is quite little. Just like the most successful chef who goes for quality not quantity, I've the same sentiment when I am choosing something to eat. continue reading

This is one of the signature and most popular dish at PastMania. Infact it is also my favourite dish here too. The spaghetti is chewy and really easy to eat. The beef meat balls are very tender and juicy, which blend in really well with the spaghetti. The tomato paste is not too sour and with the right sweet and seasoning in it as well. The presentation is also quite alright and the price is quite affordable too. continue reading

My friends and I decided to come here for lunch after class. I like how this outlet is not as crowded as the others as its tucked away in the basement.Minestrone Soup 4/10The ingredients were mainly tomatoes and onions. There was absolutely no pasta in the soup which was really awkward. The soup also tasted pretty diluted.Margarita Pizza 6/10The pizza took nearly 20mins to arrive even though there were hardly any customers around. I also found it too thin for my liking. Neither the cheese nor the tomato sauce was generous. I could also taste bits of flour from the pizza which shows it was not baked properly.Garlic Bread 7/10The garlic bread was not too bad. The portion was sufficient and it was served immediately.Warm Chocolate Cake 8/10Dessert was probably my favorite part of the meal. The cake was served warm with almond flakes. It also had a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Chocolate was supposed to overflow from the cake when I cut it but I'm guessing they didn't add enough chocolate hence it tasted more dry then its supposed to. Overall, good try I guess. continue reading
