The staff were enthusiastic as the restaurant was a newcomer to the revamped Chinatown Point. The menu was glossy and enticing , though not reflective of the food or portion served.Our appetiser of Okra Mentayaki $4.80++ was rather disappointing. Based on the menu description, the okra or ladies fingers were supposed to be topped with cheese and fish roe then grilled. However we were served okra that had been blanched and quartered, topped with nothing other than mayonnaise and torched. We approached the wait staff who politely explained that the menu was for illustrative purpose and actual portion (quarters rather than halves as shown in the menu photo) and ingredients may be varied by the chef subject to availability....well.....The Chashu Shoyu Double Soup Ramen $11.80++ was alright. Double soup here refers to the ramen being served with two types of soup in the bowl - regular soup plus shoyu based soup. The Chashu here is sliced ultra thin. Besides the Chashu, the ramen was also served with half an onsen egg with runny yolk, diced spring onions, a piece of seaweed and several stalks of preserved bamboo shoots.Tip: Stick to the ramen and forget the appetisers and desserts!
