I was looking for a peaceful place for lunch and settled for restaurant hoshigaoka. Settled for beef and tempura bento set. Their service was friendly and quick. The fried tempura was sweet, crispy and nice. The beef however was lacking in flavour. The beef was also a little tough. Overall, it was just a decent meal to fill the tummy. But I must say, the fruit, honeydew served was very sweet and juicy.

Ordered this bento set lunch for $16.50.There is a variety of things in there which makes me very happy. The assorted sushi were all fresh and yummy. Enjoyed them. Then came the cold soba. The soup was sweet and tasty. The noodle was crunchy and tangy. I was happy slurping everything up. Then the rice had a mix of salmon, tuna, octopus, egg, cucumber all chopped up. It was easy to eat the rice dish and the raw fish were all fresh and good. The chawanmushi was pretty normal. nothing much to shout

Turf city had just renovated and the number of new eateries that set up there all look so appealing but decided to try the Japanese food. Hoshigaoka serve reasonably priced Japanese cuisine and the food is not too bad. Tried the shabu shabu hotspot which was quite good and can be shared between two people. The soft shell crab is not bad but a little too small in size.
