The place was rather empty when we entered and there were lots of empty tables around. We were given one of the 6 seater table and we requested for the eight seater as we have a total of 6 adult and 1 child. But the staff refused to give us the empty seat and was told that it was reserved. We ended at around 9, the place was still quite empty. I really find their staff quite inflexible.. I must say that their food were really up to standard without burning our wallet. The soup was rich in flavour and with the right consistency. Calamari was done to perfection, not overcooked and tender to chew. Dessert was probably the highlight of the day, but shouldn't service be better at places like this. continue reading

Decided to spent a christmas lunch here with 3 other friends of mine since we don't really celebrate christmas.Upon walking in, we were welcomed by a very european classy ambience and at that moment i knew the ambience alone would be worth the money. The food were presented in 4 different stations, turkey and pasta would be prepared by 2 chefs, appetizers one area, mains another and of course, dessert. The waiters were all very attentive and couldn't seem to wait to serve us.Although I wondered why they would lay down the napkin on our laps when they knew that we needed to get up and get food ourselves.Anyways, the appetizer variety ranged from smoked tuna, to buffalo cheese (yum), onion salad (the best i've had in singapore) and of course a few other choices.Mains had had the usual pastas and some variety of meat.I thought the fish was slightly overcooked, the beef too tough to eat and the pasta left there for too long. However, the great tasting sauces and gravy made up for it Dessert were the usual, with probably a log cake as a specialty, and i thought the tiramisu was the best with fresh coffee hidden beneath those layers of cream and whatever makes up a tiramisu.Brought a bottle of brut wine from home and had to pay a corkage fee of $40*Overall it was good for an italian buffet, each person was about $60. ($48++) continue reading
