Me and my good friend decided to take advantage of the 50% discount on deal to try out this Korean restaurant. We reach there around 7pm. Me and my good friend decided to take advantage of the 50% discount on deal to try out this Korean restaurant.

We reach there around 7pm. The place was not crowded and remained the same throughout our dinner.

We ordered a traditional stew in spicy soupbase, glass noodles and one grilled beef. The portions were enough for 2 ladies who do not have big appetites. There is nothing noteworthy about the dishes. The Korean alcohol was nice, but it was not included in our coupon.

Overall, the food was fine. In comparison, I still prefer my bibigo. As it is located in Orchard Central, the crowd is not there. As such, it is good for chit-chat session during and after meals.

In comparison with the lunch menu where one of our dishes only cost $9.90 on the lunch menu, dinner would have been overpriced without the coupon. Total bill was $75 and the discount was $30. Hence, we paid altogether $45.

This version of chicken ginseng soup here is really tasty and appetitizing. THe chicken meat is very tender and juicy, which the portion is also very generous as well. The soup base is quite thick and sweet as well. The added ginseng slices really has enhanced the taste of this dish. Best to have it with their fragrant plain rice or to have it with noodles, both taste equally good!

Bought a #30 deal voucher worth of $60 at Sarang's and the food was overall ok. The Korean amry stew and toppoki were good. But the Korean pancake has far too much green onions which makes you feel like eating the onions itself only :/ Overall service was good though. As for the ambience, the tables are abit packed and there's not much space to walk inside. As for the pricing, I feel that it is abit overpriced as compared to other restaurants since there is not much ingredients in the food.

The chicken skews are very very spicy for first bite but in fact, the sauce is very sweet and later become "ne". The ginseng soup is delicious and chicken is tender. The spicy rice cake was not very spicy and taste is reasonable.

The most interesting items of the night were the cocktail. It was quite a big serving serve in a jar and came with shooter cups. We have no idea why the shooter cups until later everyone’s face turn red. It is concoction of fresh fruit juice and soju. So, do not order for your little ones.

Sarang is located on the 7th floor of Orchard Central (the sprawling shopping complex designed like a rat maze). It has a small indoor seating area which is usually filled up. There are also outdoor seats and seats at the bar, where diners can barbecue their own food or get the chef to do it. We were assigned bar seats since most places were already booked up (business is booming on weekends). This place serves Makgeolli- a korean rice wine with alcohol content of about 5%. It has a characteristic milky, off-white colour and is sweet. The bar serves out several Makgeolli cocktails mixed together with fresh ingredients and we had their Makgeolli Mojito (left, $10) and Makgeolli Orange ($10, right). The mojito was fantastic! I really liked the refreshing hints of citrus and mint, but the drink itself is still sweet (mainly from Makgeolli and sugar). The orange concoction was a bit like orange sparkling juice, but I guess citrus lovers will enjoy the fresh squeezed orange pulp bits inside the drink.

My friend was craving for Korean BBQ, so we ordered the DIY BBQ Platter ($38.80) where you get to select any 3 meat items from the ala carte menu, which was more worth it since each meat item costs between $16.80-19.80. We got ourselves Jeyuk Bakeum (marinated pork slices), Dak Galbi (marinated chicken) and Galbi Sal (marinated boneless beef ribs).

You also get to choose whether you want to cook the items yourself or get the chef to cook it for you. We opted for the former, so we were given this mini grill pan which came with some semi cooked mushrooms, kim chi, bean sprout and lettuce condiments to go with the meats. The waitresses are quite attentive, one even advised us to lower the fire to prevent the meats from overcooking. So BBQ noobs don’t be afraid, you won’t get burnt. The waitress also assured us that the oil from the grill will not splatter, but the pan got oily after a while and there were some oil splatter around the area. You can request for a change of grill pan, it somewhat helped reduce oil splatters. The meats were quite thinly sliced, so they cooked quickly. They were quite tender and well marinated, and I quite enjoyed the meal!

Oh good lord how else will I eat pat bing soo anywhere else But before the pretty bowl of ice kacang ala Korea comes, the main menu enters in.

I ordered the jajangmyeon, a very iconic instant noodle kind, the black sauce paste where all usual koreans call to deliver. This noodle is a reinvention from the lamien of the Chinese. Surprised however, was the portion! It was ridiculously tiny in a lasagna spaghetti place. So it was a short reverie of memory of how I missed jajangmyeon. Although not as sticky and authentic as the original one back there, this was the proper, more healthy version with lesser sauce (and less darker) topped with mushrooms. Push the
in and mix it away! It was a more or less less tastier than back in Seoul. Told ya it was the healthier version.

Now, the queen of ice, I was surprised by its huge amount and other weird toppings - i thought it was only red bean But anyhow, I managed to finish it by SHARING. It was that huge, the ice was topped in a big bowl with all sorts of toppings that are not identifiable as in your normal ice kacang, which is why its different if you were to order it from a kopitiam. It was finished off with an ice cream scoop and cherry.

But more or less, most people come here (like me and my friend here) because the artist has sat on the seat, or watching the Kpop concert streaming outside on their huge projector.

Pork belly was tender, korean rice cakes were okay.

Love the bimbimbap. But it’s a tad expensive at $8.80 without any meat. But the joy of eating rice cooked in a hot stone bowl!

With my bf, we tried the Korean Seoul restaurant in Orchard Central. We ordered a seafood stew. It is in Kimchi soup base. only knew about this restaurant as they were the official restaurant for the recent kpop night concert in singapore so decided to go try it out as my idols came here to eat too!

the restaurant had indoor and outdoor seatings. but we chose to sit indoor as that day weather was quite humid. as we came around 8.20pm there was lesser crowd already so we did not have to wait too long for our food which was a good thing.

we decided to order their rice cake, kimchi soup, chicken, and glass noodles / vermicelli and three bowls of rice. initially we wanted to order the rice which was cooked using a stone pot but after knowing that we had to wait for 20 mins for it to be cooked, we decided to opt for the normal steamed rice as we were famished by then.

first up, the rice cake was ok, a bit spicy for me though but overall it was alright.
second came the kimchi soup we were shocked that it was such a small pot!!! there were 3 of us, each of us barely had enough for 5 spoon of soup and thats it, there is no more left already!!
so we requested to the waiter if we could have more soup if that was possible but he said no as they only cook to order. and that if there is no ingredients, the soup would not be tasty.
thirdly, the chicken came and it was ok not too bad! one of the better dish.
enjoyed it though as the seasoning was just right.

as we were still quite hungry, we decided to order the glass noodle. which was a wrong choice!! the portion was so freaking small !!!! it was quite normal as well.

overall i dont think i will come back to visit this restaurant as i feel that although the price is reasonable, but their portion is really small! but their service was not too bad that i must say.
