The family was driving along the highway when we spotted a queue for this banana leaf restaurant. We decided to head there for dinner given its popularity, plus we were craving for something new. Given the queue around 8pm, we were ushered to our seats pretty quickly. It has a pretty humble layout, nothing too fancy, yet clean. After ordering our food, they served our drinks and papatam within a few minutes. http://static1.sg.orstatic.com/UserPhoto/photopending/0/EZ/002YHDAA6B122D37A30E3Ac.jpgTh

The papadam was sooooo yummy, we refilled it three times! But then again, one can never go wrong with papadam. And the best drinks to order were teh tarik or teh alia. (ginger tea)

They served our food within the next 10 minutes, because it was just a matter of ladling it onto plates. I love their beef rendang, we ordered 2 servings, but that was hardly enough. The meat was so soft, its like its been stewed overnight.

For a party of 6, we ordered 5 dishes, and some were hits while others were misses.
The beef rendang is a must-have, and the chicken masala. OMG! So good, because the chicken was so tender and the masala was just the right level of spicyness.

And nothing completed the meal better than the briyani rice. Because not only was the rice soft and fragrant, they were generous with the servings, and ensured that the rice did not taste too stale or hard, even though we were there for dinner. My pet peeve is how sometimes you order briyani and there's just the large chunky bits in the rice because its been left in the pot for too long? This was the opposite case for this one. It was so good, I polished off an entire plate on my own, which was rare, because I hardly eat more than half a serving of rice usually.

A wonderful place for dinner, and very satisfying banana leaf rice! Will definitely be back, because it is affordable and the food is great!
