Love the chng teng here! It is one of the best in my opinion, the ice is shaved really fine so that it melts smoothly into the dessert and melts smoothly in your mouth too! The dessert is full of delicious toppings such as lychees white fungus atap chee barley sago balls and other delicious toppings! the price is really affordable too! 2 dollars for a large portion of this delicious refreshing dessert!

This dessert stall sells really really good local desserts. I really enjoy the ice kachang which is sweet and very refreshing. There are chunks of jelly and grass jelly throughout the dessert and lots of sweet delicious red beans and atap Chee. The amount of ingredients is very generous and this makes the dessert very value for money costing a mere two dollars for a pretty substantial portion.

DessertsAs I'm around Newton's area and I read about Shan Ren's Dessert over the internet, I decided to give it a try. Shan Ren Stall is located at the row facing the carpark and its quite noticeable as I enter Newton Food Centre.Desserts are very common and Qing Tng is one of the MUST HAVE item on a dessert list. Shan Ren has fine shave ice over the syrup water. Cost at S$2.00, I find it quite explainable with the "rare" ingredients used.A piece of Lychee has been included together with the dried logan. It's tastes sweet and rather refreshing.A few attap seed was also added. However the attap seeds hardness varies. Some was rather soft and some were very hard and I prefer the latter. Cocktail on the Ice Jelly was nothing special however the ice jelly which was bedded beneath the heap of fine ice was very soft and tender.ServiceSelf service and uncle was quite prompt as we first walk to his stall.AmbienceIt was after lunch hours and to tea time. The place was quite airy. PriceIn consideration of the location, pricing is still reasonable. On top of that the ingredients they used in the dessert are better than most of the dessert stalls.Recommendations / TipsRemember to put coupon if you drive there as the carpark auntie/uncle are very on the ball.
