My family is not very adventurous and interesting, and since i was young, we have always gone to Swensen's to celebrate our birthdays! However, this doesn't dilute the fact the fact that Swensen's offers comfort food that my family never gets sick of! The black pepper pasta is always pretty spicy due to the heat from the black pepper! However, given the freshness of the seafood, we always get this when we go there! Great dish! Ordered a grilled chicken salad at Swensen's for lunch. What impresses me was their service speed. In 5 minutes from ordering, they were ready to deliver the food. However, the salad tasted all right only. The vegetable they used tasted bitter, I did not like it. It was served with thousand island dressing which was kind of boring. Mango delight ice cream cake is a superb birthday cake. Furthermore, it is affordable for an ice cream cake as it is only $47! The mango is rich and compliment the ice cream cake very well. Cheesy Baked mussel was delicious. You can actually pull the cheese out when eating. The mussel and cheese goes well together, the cheese did not overpower the mussel taste.American cheeseburger pizza was a special unique pizza that i have never eaten before. Eating this pizza is better than eating cheeseburger from mcdonalds. Clam chowder soup served in a bread - I like the idea of serving the soup in a bowl made of bread as it makes the whole thing edible. One can also dip the bread into the soup and eat it like that. With its melted cheese spread over the hot spaghetti mixed with minced beef in tomato sauce, the taste is just heavenly. The sauce was generously filled with meat, not including the compact meatballs that top it. More cheese given would be better though. During my cousin's birthday celebration, his family members have bought him an ice cream cake from Swensen at Tampines mall. The cake looks really nice and simple. Inside is totally filled with the strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream. The combination was nothing special and for me, I still prefer to have the traditional birthday cake, which have cake sponge inside. Moreover, it is quite fast to melt as well. Love this hot and cold dessert that is served with fluffy mashmellows at the side. The mashmellows would melt and form a crispy exterior when it hits the hot plate and the warm brownie goes really well with the large scoop of ice cream at the top of the brownie. Swensen's offer quite a few variety of fishes and i love the salmon here as it is not too well done. The salmon is served with mash potatoes that are really smooth and tastety! The cream sauce that complements the salmon is also really good and it goes really well with almost anything be it the fish or the vegetables at the side.
