I went to thai noodle house with wife for dinner this evening on 2.1.2016.used to be one of my casual go-to place for thai beef noodle soup. don’t do much of that lately.last time i was here was on 6.10.2013.unfortunately this time it was totally off for me, so bad i will never go back again.quite apart from the price becoming ridiculously high for a ridiculously small serving, the centre-piece S$8 beef noodle soup (which in fact was the dish that was NOT exorbitant), the taste was totally gone!if you look at my photo of beef noodle soup in 2013, that soup was clear, this one was mirky. i hope it was a one time anomaly.but there was no sweet taste in the soup. i took maybe 20% of it. fortunately the sliced beef, braised beef, beef balls were still the same, quite nice.for the other 2 dishes, they tasted as good a sbefore. but the S$13 beef was served in a 4in x 4in plate (100cm x 100cm).likewise the sweet potato leaves…where does one find a 4in x 4in plate (100cm x 100cm)?i think it was purely bad taste…how much more does a bit more sweet potato leaves cost?for me, i guess i rather pay ridiculous price to have nicer food than the not ex price to have a tasteless beef noodle soup, but anyway all of them were quite pathetic as far as i am concerned. place was quite crowded though at 8pm+ on a saturday night so maybe other diners did not share my sentiments…haha!but for me, it’s no no!See my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2016/01/02/simply-pathetic-thai-noodle-house-on-2jan2016/

I had visited Thai Noodle House more than a decade ago and one day when I was back in that area for Penang Food, I chanced upon this restaurant again and note it down to visit the next round. With the well taken shots of their delicious delicacies on the restaurant facade, its hard to resist myself from entering into Thai Noodle House.Interior was neat with checked flooring and decorations on the wall are mainly either pictures of their thai cuisine or awards won by them over the years.One of the classic from a Thai restaurant - the lemongrass drink. Absolutely refreshing especially when it was served chilled. Sweetness level is subtle.No doubt that the Thai Fish Cake is a popular Thai street snack and iconic thai dish, I got a shock when I had the first look into the basket of 4 as it comes out that one small piece of fish cake cost $2.50 which I personally felt that it is very expensive.Fish cakes were fried to brown in color with a glossy appearance. Suace comes with thai chilli in chopped peanuts and cut cucumbers adding crunch and additional texture to the dipping sauce.The first bite of it had took the expensive thought in me away. The fish cakes were very bouncy and fragrant with the kaffir lime leaves. Bites from the french beans in the fish cake added another level of crunch to them. The dish was suppose to be shared but I could not resist and end up having more than half of them.The typical black broth beef soup with the thin size kway teow. Soup was sweet with beef balls, brisket and cubes. Stewed beef was very tender. We still like the beed noodle soup very much though we all knew that lots of MSG was used. For a $3 portion, the bowl seems too small to match with its price. Thai red ruby was served chilled with ice cubes and diluted coconut milk. Simply refreshing with crunchiness from the chestnuts.Service was quick and friendly, helpful and with a smile. There are a few other eateries at this stretch that is worth trying.Thai Noodles House is one of them and is popular with students from NUS and the other schools in the area. Prices are very reasonable and easy on the wallet. Simple set up We just had to order the Thai Iced Tea! It's one of my favourite drinks What is Thai food lunch without Pad Thai! Not too sweet.. but then again I am not a Pad Thai fan; I like my noodles savory. Beef noodles was not too bad. Glass Noodle Salad - love it! Light and easy to eat. Their special tofu, goes well with the chilli. It's one of my favourite eateries for Thai food

I tried Thai Noodle House few months ago I ordered the tom yam noodle & change the noodles to "dong fen" & they said need to top up as "dong fen" is more expensive than those usual yellow noodles,It tasted quite ok & seafood was very fresh But it cost about $8++ for a bowl,i find that it won't worth the price If you happen to be around this area,is worth for a try,but not worth to come all the way hereoverall i rate 6/10

sometimes good food are not only found in hig class restaurants. there are really good food just waiting to be discovered. here is one of those rare gems that produced really delicious thai food. my girlfriend and I would drive here specially just to eat their thai food. we are both lovers of their tom yum soup. the soup is really thick and rich. it is not very spicy and but rather sour. the ingredients they use are really fresh and they are always so generous with their ingredients. makes you feel that your money is indeed well spent.
