The cereal menu is imprinted on the wall.

Get the Double Crunch with Waffle Crisp, Honey Crunch Corn Flakes ($3, double scoop), Mini Marshmallows ($0.95) and Fresh Milk ($1.50), which is a sweeter combination.

The Iced Latte ($4.80) isn't your usual cup of coffee. It comes in the form of coffee ice cubes, which you have to stir it with the milk provided. This tasted strong even when the milk is added in, which will also pacify those who wants low acidity in their coffee.

Although the food concept here is rather unique for a cafe, cereal is something that can be easily whipped up at home and will probably serve better for those who doesn't have the time to do so. The drinks here says otherwise though. If you are around Telok Blangah area, do give this a place a try still!

Opened in the quiet neighbourhood of Telok Blangah Drive at the block right beside The Marshmallow Tree is The Cereal Pantry, a new cereal bar which is a concept that is rather new in Singapore. The menu here contains Cereals, Dry Toppings, Fresh Fruits and Milk/Yoghurt, which one can choose from to mix-and-match for their cereal. Coffee, Sodas and Ronnefield Teas are available to pair up with the cereal. For our cereal bowl ($6.65), we chose the Honey Crunch Corn Flakes and Cinnamon Toast Crunch

For our cereal bowl ($6.65), we chose the Honey Crunch Corn Flakes and Cinnamon Toast Crunch with Honey Drizzle as a dry topping, Banana and Yoghurt. It felt like a classic combination that could never go wrong; light cinnamon flavours with that unforgettable taste of cornflakes with a hint of sweetness from the honey, ending off with a sour touch by the Aloe Vera Yoghurt they have. Honestly, something that one could easily prepare at home if they have all the ingredients, but I must say that the glass bowl definitely made everything look gorgeous.

Coffee is not their strongest point, as demonstrated by the Latte Macchiato ($3.80) which smelt great but felt short on taste being rather flat. Best to go elsewhere for their cuppa.

I love cereal in the mornings. But more often than not, there's not much time to mix up a storm and on the flipside, just that single box of Koko Krunch is dry and doesn't quite make the cut for me.

This is the genius about The Cereal Pantry. With over 20 types of cereals and 21 toppings (5 of them fresh fruit), it is really up to you to let yourself go and let the tastebuds do the picking! To top it off, there's a variety of milk and yoghurt for the finishing touch.
Koko Krunch + Waffle Crisps + Blueberries + Malteses with Chocolate Drizzle

For the chocolatey and adventurous (like me), I'd suggest my own selection which I really liked: 2 cereal types - Koko Krunch and Waffle Crisp -, fresh blueberries, Malteses (chocolate-coated malt balls), lavishly drizzled with chocolate sauce with a side of milk to go with. It was not the conventional cereal breakfast for champions, but I enjoyed it a heck of a lot.

Down to the number crunching:
I had a Double Crunch (adult portion of 2 scoops) - $3, blueberries - $1.20, 2 toppings at $0.95 each and fresh milk, totalling up to $7.60. That's not including the delivery charge of $20 which applies to the overall order making my breakfast a pretty expensive one at nearly $10 a pop.

Great experience, fun and prompt delivery aside, it is really hard to get around the price point. While there are the expect "oohs and ahs" over a delightful cereal breakfast without even having to break a sweat, $10 for a box of cereal mix that didn't quite fill me up is a bit hard to justify.

Maybe I'll just give the cafe at Telok Blangah a whirl?

Other Info. : Delivery charges at $20 is a bit steep if you are not ordering for that many.
