Visited Guild last Friday with a few friends. We were all completely blown away by the choice of drinks and food and the décor of the restaurant. First, on drinks, the restaurant has some excellent beer selection. It helps that Hong Kong's top most brewery, Young Master, is behind this restaurant. The beers taste fresh and are quite flavorful. On food, the dishes are authentic and very creative. The chef uses a lot of local Singaporean ingredients from Singaporean farms. We were told the frog legs are fresh and frogs are naturally reared! Also the fries had a great umami flavor to it, Mac & Cheese was to die for. That by far was my fav dish.
The décor is done very tastefully and it blends nicely into the shop house architecture. The big round bar in the center is a centerpiece and attracts visitors to sit at the bar. The rest of the décor flooring, furniture style of doors seem to give a very homey feel to the place. It feels like a place where you can spend a lot of time with friends and family and have a good meal and great beers.

First off - the SERVICE. I think anyone familiar with the dining scene in Singapore will understand (and lament) the poor customer service that has come to be expected at restaurants. Well - there is none of that here. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, patiently explaining to my friend and me the different menu highlights and providing recommendations based on what we were hankering/craving. No waving arms frantically to get a server's attention; clearly staff was 100% vested in guests enjoying their experience.

It is difficult to describe the cuisine at the restaurant so I will settle for American/fusion. Whatever you call it, the menu was inspired and unique, ranging from macaroni and cheese with a twist to bone marrow. I liked also that all the dishes were made to be shared and came reasonably priced at decent proportions so one could try a wide range.

Furthermore, the drink selection accompanying the food menu was a real highlight. Not only were there numerous craft beers on tap, but there was also a very good cocktail menu. I absolutely loved all of the different drinks I tried. My friend, who is more beer expert than I am, absolutely loved the Young Masters they had. (And in fact the concept of the restaurant, as the staff explained, is that the food menu was designed to go with the craft beer.)

Finally, I also appreciated the decor of the restaurant - a bit old-fashioned/vintage-y with floral tiles for accent. Overall a place very comfortable to sit and have a meal (or drink) at.
