I normally order char siew paus since I find it not as fatty as pork paus and I prefer the meat to be intact than minced and rolled into one which is the case for pork paus. My children like pork paus better, hence I usually get that for them and the charsiew pau for myself. However, as they have ran out of charsiew paus, I decided to get the big pau for myself too instead, as recommended by the stall owner. The big pau consists of pork filling which quite juicy and tender. There are some chopped spring onions and onions mixed together with the pork which enhance the juiciness of the pau and provide a different taste (in chinese "kou gan"). I thought this was a surprisingly good buy. At least, next time I have another pau to fall back on if they run out of charsiew paus! continue reading
