Introduction
Uma Uma prides themselves in using only fresh ingredients, without adding MSG into the food. The broth in Uma Uma Ramen is prepared from only pork bones, whereby its stock is almost clear by simmering the bones for two days. A signature would be their Mazesoba -a noodle ramen with vegetable and egg. continue reading

Situated just at the entrance of Forum Shopping Mall, this ramen restaurant serves up pretty affordable lunch sets. For just $14+ you get to choose a bowl of ramen, one additional topping, one side dish and a drink. There is also this huge caligraphy painting in the restaurant which caught my eye because it kinda looks like 5 cute gyoza. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen which was pretty disappointing. The pork slices were chopped up into bits instead of served in thick chunky slices. Good thing the broth was pretty good and the noodles were springy too.For the side dishes, we shared a plate of 5 mini-sized Gyoza and Chicken Karaage. Nothing exceptional about these 2 dishes and the gyoza was also rather oily. Overall, it's a pretty decent place to have a quiet and quick lunch. continue reading

So we decide on ramen.Uma uma ramen rides on its fame as a Japanese ramen chain from Fukuoka. The noodles here are done Hakata style with thin al dente noodles, a rich tonkotsu broth with spicy miso and topped with flavourful charsiu slices.Sounds good?I liked the noodles but...Apparently, that's all the good there is.Take our advice, ramen anywhere else is a better bang for your buck.So something's gotta make up for this hey. continue reading

It was weekend day out with sisters. We was walking pass the Forum Shopping Mall and we decided to try this ramen shop for our choice of dinner. It is a walking distance from Orchard MRT station which will take around 15 minutes? The shop is rather small with limited tables and chairs. So if you opt for quick dinner, this might be your choice. The staff will provide a 'plastic container' to put our bags so that we can sit comfortably to enjoy the dinner. Once we placed order, the foods are served within 15 minutes. We ordered Tonkatsu Ramen S$14.00 which consists of chasiu, spring onions and sesame seeds. The soup base was quite decent. It is the Hakata-style ramen so the noodles are straight and skinny with soft characteristic. Spicy Chasiu Ramen S$16.00 which consists of chasiu with spicy marinade chilli oil, leeks and spring onions. The soup is not spicy at all. I can't take spicy thus the soup base is just nice for me. The chasiu was appertizing and the texture is soft and tender as well.We also ordered side dish- Chicken karaage S$8.00.The chicken is cripsy and tender. A snap of the front entrance of the shopBelow is the address of the Uma Uma Ramen branch that i went:- 583 Orchard Road, #01-41/42/43 Forum The Shopping Mall, Singapore 238884 Tel: +65 6235 0855 Opening Hours: 11.30am – 3.30pm, 6.30pm – 10pm (Mon – Sat); 11.30am – sold out (Sun) continue reading
