I often watch American shows and wondered what is this food that Americans call 'Chili' as it seems really different from the chili that we Asians know.I was really excited when i saw Beef Chili on the Wendy's menu and knew I had to give it a try.The Beef chili comes with a small scoop of croutons and I think it's meant to be a soup? It's totally not spicy at all and tastes like a watery version of tomato pasta sauce. It's delicious though. In the soup there's minced beef bits, chopped celery, kidney beans and baked beans. It cost $3.20 for the big cup which is still hardly filling. Makes a great snack. continue reading

In this outlet, it sells a variety of breakfast meals, ranging from local version like kaya toasts to American version. I order a Smoked Turkey Melt Panini breakfast set. It comes with a hot and crispy hash brown, and a hot drink for just $5.80. Been such a hot day, I decide to change the drink to iced milo and need to topup another $0.70 more. The sandwich tastes quite juicy with the juicy tomato inside. Tasty and filling breakfast. continue reading

Wendys is another fast food chain that has many outlets all over our island. I came here for tea one day to grab a quick bite. However I was not impressed with the food. The fries were a let down for me being not flavourful enough although the texture was acceptable. The nuggets were pretty normal too, nothing outstanding at all. Overall it was not a very good meal experience for me. continue reading

I was in for a surprise when i tried Wendys on a Wednesday night... No it wasnt ladies night but just a chill out at Yishun with my friends...I have never tried the Half pound before. I am not particularly fussy about the burgers and after all i wanted to treat myself to something...Anyway, it was quite crowded and the staff behind were struggling (its okay guys, i know how you feel, don't sian okay). They basically had a lot of orders and it was very confusing for them but my meal was served within 5 minutes and i was quite okay with that.Had the coke light and also the baked potato for a healthier option. Although it is a complex carbohydrate, it is very tasty and healthy. The burger was super juicy and a little greasy oops... but extremely tasty such that i savored every piece of it.Came to about $8.95, the staff were really friendly... continue reading

If you happen to be near any of their many outlets in between 3 to 5 pm then their tea time savers might be a good choice for tea break. The choices available for selection are Premium Cod Fillet, Shrimp Supreme or Chili Cheese Fries. You can choose any of those and it serves along with a Frosty Coke Float for only $4.95. I gotta agree that the portion is not too filling but it is good to go in between meals and leave you just enough space for dinner. I decided to have a Shrimp Supreme with Frosty Coke Float. The Shrimp Supreme burger tasted like something i tried once in Taiwan. It did not offer much surprises. The shrimp patty was nicely fried to leave a slight crisp and tasted not oily. It was served with a bit of sauce and a leaf of lettuce sandwiched in between the well toasted buns. I compared the Frosty Coke Float to my favourite Root Bear Float offered by A & W. When such comparison is made then the Frosty Coke Float fared pretty badly. It was served with soft serve ice cream and it kinda compromised the taste of coke. It tasted a bit too milky with very little taste of coke. I did not quite like it.Anyway, it might not be too bad a choice if you are looking for light snack. continue reading
