Out for lunch at Ang Mo Kio, I meet a friend here. Standing in front of the stall and thinking what to order, I observed the overall was quite hygienic. Service wise, the staff even didn’t take a look at me due to peak lunch hours, all of them were busying with their own stuffs. I waved and placed my order at last.I thought normal sweetly honey version should not go wrong, yet the fact was a disappointment. Instead of Fried Fish and Chips, I had mine where the dory fish was marinated and grilled. Sadly, it was obviously a frozen flesh, I can taste the fish was not the fresh one. It came along with Coleslaw, Veggies, and Fries, of course Chilli sauces. $6.50 for the meal, the food was not worth the price. continue reading

It was a simple fare but a rather comforting one though the standard of food might not be the best. This western food stall offers an extensive menu on their big menu board right beside the stall. I wanted something simple yet filling so having a plate of Fried Rice with Crispy Chicken was somewhat a good choice. It is rather reasonably at $5.00. It consists of a piece of fried chicken with a sunny side up fried egg and a good portion of fried rice. The breaded fried chicken was quite a thin slice thus it might be the reason why it was slightly over-fried to cause its texture to be a little harder. It was well-marinated though. The fried rice was nicely done with bits of char siew to give it a slight wok taste and not too greasy. The texture of rice was grainy and cooked well. The fried egg managed to retain its moisture with a runny egg yolk. The best way to enjoy it is to break the egg yolk slightly and let it flow then mixed it quickly with the fried rice to give it an eggy taste. That simple taste can be quite an enjoyment. continue reading

I tried the beef steak from this new western food stall for the first time. I ordered a 250 grams of beef and requested to have it at medium for done-ness. The beef steak came serving on the old school hot plate just like those use in steak houses. I will give full mark for their presentation. They managed to get the done-ness spot on. When cut open the piece of steak, it has got a nice pinkish color. It served with their special brown sauce. I wanted a marshed potato as side. I enjoyed my piece of steak and will be back to try others. continue reading
