This is the pork with century egg porridge from xiang ji. I like the texture of this porridge as it is thick and not get watery fast after sometime. It has this special sweet taste in the porridge, to enhance to it. I wonder if it is because there's some special ingredients added to it. The pork and century egg serving is generous and they really go well with the plain porridge!

Decided to give it a try after reading Lianhe Wanbao which featured this stall on 9/6/2012, one that was setup in 1979. I was very surprising that this stall serves good porridge which I can hardly find now, the texture was smooth and the meat was very tender. A porridge that is traditional in taste and I spent $2.50 for pork porridge which I find it very reasonable given the portion served by the hawker. This is one of the older stalls in this hawker centre. They are selling different type of porridge at a different price. I always go for century egg and lean meat porridge for $2.70 and i will add an egg too for additional 0.30 cents. It can be rather comforting when you start your day off with a bowl of nice porridge. This is one of those stalls to get such a good bowl of porridge. My favourite has always been the lean meat with century egg porridge. Simple, not fanciful but good feeling, just like those specially cooked by your mother.
