I specially came to Tiong Bahru market for lunch to try this famous wanton noodle stall! They are well known for their 'never see sky' char siew premium cut and never fails to sell out before 1 pm everyday! You have to come really early! I wanted to reach before lunch time but I was late and it was already close to 1 pm. The 'never see sky' char siew is a nicer name for the pig's armpit part of the char siew. There was already a long queue and true enough, the premium cut is already sold out a few orders before my turn and they are only left with the normal char siew. I manage to try their $3 char siew wanton mee and the people behind me didn't get the chance and had to settle with their chicken noodles. The plate of wanton noodles look so ordinary but the taste is superb! I love that the noodles are full of flavour and not tangled with one another at all. The normal char siew is already nice and I couldn't imagine how their premium cut must taste like! I will definitely be back to try their Grade A char siew! Read More

You can identify this stall with the long queue...for wanton noodles. Don't be surprised though, because the char siu is amazingly worth it.The 'no see sky' or bu jian tian char siu is sinfully delicious with just the right amount of sauce and fat. Your heart may not thank you for it so much, but your tummy and palate will.Be prepared to line up if you do come down to try it, but try to be here early cause the best char siu will run out of stock. I was here before 1 and was one of the last ones to get the best part. The noodles are chewy and Q (just my favorite type of texture) and the wantons win the soup wasn't too salty. Yum!Read More

Zhong Yu Yuan Wonton Mee has one of the longest queue in Tiong Bahru Market. Went to get myself a plate of the dry version of the wonton mee (seems like majority of the people infront of me are ordering it dry, thus I shall go with the flow) and it comes with the usual yellow noodles, charsiew and wonton dumplings. Waited for like 20minutes in the queue before I finally get to order. Lucky it does not disappoint me for waiting for so long. The noodles is springy and not soft, very nice to chew. The char siew proportion of fats and lean meat is evenly distributed and it tasted good with its marination. There's this auntie outside the stall making the dumplings, so those dumplings are freshly made on that day and cooked to serve. Thumbs up for this!Read More

The FoodI ordered a plate of wanton mee somewhat similar to Kok Kee, the delicious springy noodles are topped with a sweet and savory sauce that enhances its flavour. To the delight of char siew lovers, the well-marinated char siew is tasty, tender and exceptionally fleshy. The outstanding char siew is certainly the highlight. So far, this is the best char siew I ever eaten in whole of Singapore. The PriceReasonably priced at $2.50 per plateOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!Read More

Tried out this long queue wonton mee to see what's so special about this wonton mee (everytime when I passby the queue will be very long, esp during peak hours). Waited for about 20 minutes in the queue. Order a $3 wonton mee and it comes with a few slices of char siew meat and 2 wontons which is put separately in the soup bowl.I like how springy the noodles is. Even though there's a queue, they managed to maintain the noodles quality and not making it too hard or soft. It was really just nice. The charsiew is nice too, not too much fat and is soft. Wonton wise was pretty normal. If you love quality food and dont mind to wait, u might want to try this next time when u are around Tiong Bahru Market.Read More
