Tried its weekday high-tea buffet. quite cheap. $13.80+ for adult. It is an ala-cart buffet, and there are many items on the menu.This item is quite unique- the dumpling wih pork floss laid on time. Taste good. I like the prawn roll (hei zou) too. Everyone loves dim-sum, for I do not know someone who dislikes them. These delicate, mouth-sized artpieces are - in my opinion - the most incredible creations of the Chinese, and not without reasons. Each and every piece of good dim-sum is made out of the freshest ingredients with skilled and dedicated hands that were moulded through years of experiences. And in Zhou's Kitchen, a casual mid-range Chinese restaurant under Tung Lok Group, the chefs know how to do it well.Their rendition of the traditional siew mai was surprisingly good, as the use of mushrooms and fish roes gave the original flavour a refreshing twist. However, the King Siew-Mai from 126 Eating House still remained as my best vote.The Prawn Dumplings were good, but nothing to rave about. The prawns were juicy and scrumptous, but the foundation of a good dumpling - the skin were a little sticky and dry that proves to be a dissapointment.Research shows that egg tarts contains high sugar and fat content, and is possibly the worst food to snack on. But again, who could ever resist this oh-so-sinful treats? Their egg tarts is probably one of the best in Singapore, with soft and jelly-like egg custard filled in a basket of crispy and flaky skin. They are bite-sized as well, which makes things worse (in a good way) - you want to have more, and more in your mouth.Yang Zhou Fried Bee Hoon - noodles fried with assorted vegetables, scrambled eggs and fresh shrimps, was slightly oily, but not greasy at all. As a picky eater my grandmother is, you know the food is good when she wanted a second, and even a third serving.Fried Prawn Roll, which is encased with a thin crispy skin and filled with soft, juicy prawn paste, is a perfect side dish to go along with the Fried Bee Hoon, and great on its own anyway.Zhou's Kitchen is definitely a place to head for, if you are looking for fuss-free, yet standard dim sum without burning a hole in your pockets. Sliced Fish Congee - Was told by a friend that the Fish Congee here has thick slices of fish. Ordered it and yes! Indeed the slice fishes were thick and smooth. The congee itself is very well boiled to a smooth paste. It is so tasty that you do not need to add any sauce to it. Just sprinkle some pepper on it and that's it - a very tasty and nutritious bowl of sliced fish congee. I had Zhou's Kitchen lunch buffet that day. The restaurant was very quiet on a weekday afternoon. Only a few tables were occupied. There was a menu of items to order as part of the buffet and some self-service items too. Zhou's Kitchen serves chinese food like dim sum and other dishes. As I had only one more hour left for the buffet, I decided to go ala-carte instead. I ordered quite a few dishes like the siew mai, har gow, spring roll and egg tarts. Of the lot, their egg tarts impressed me the most since the crust is flaky and the egg tart itself is not too sweet. The egg tart is those mini ones, so one person to a plate of three egg tarts is recommended for those who love egg tarts, so that there will be no fighting over the last tart. Went to meet up with beau and his friends after work and head down to Zhou's Kitchen on a Sat afternoon for dim sum buffet Each table is given a list of menu, the items were quite limited and you can only order 3times. so you must order as much as you want for each round. The service of the staffs is not very good. When we ask one of the staff to give us chilli sause, the staff just place it on the table without taking away the empty container. Moreover, some of the food that we ordered was not served because they forgot to key it in for us. Few of the foods that we have ordered:Siew mai, my all time favourite always the siew mai is nice and the shrimp big and fresh ordered 4, 5 times of this yumyum 水晶虾饺, a disappointing dish. It's time for the family gathering for Chinese New Year. We are having a lo hei feast at this Zhou kitchen. It is an afternoon gathering in order to have the ala carte buffet. This is a nice family restaurant with good service, however most of the waitresses are from china, and I think they could hardly understand English, but all of them do wear a smile despite the communication barrier. Celebrated Winter Solstice at Zhou's kitchen yesterday with hubby. This should be cheaper than the usual Tunglok Signatures and Classic....The crisp fried silver bait with salted pepper is quite nice being not too oily and very crispy. Also it's not as saltish as other restaurant.Next we ordered the wok fried french beans with minced pork. A bit spicy and oily for this dish though...Not as good as i expected.Because hubby got diarrhea before this, so decided to go for soupy dish. Zhou's kitchen offers a dimsum buffet during the non-peak hours from 2:30-5:30. I was there on a weekend and it is $16.80++ per adult. The dishes on the whole are quite ok, I especially liked the mini egg tarts. We ordered several of this dish. The popiah wasn't that well done in my opinion though. Besides dim sum, there are other dishes like the sliced pork with garlic sauce, drunken chicken and desserts. Zhou's Kitchen offers nice and reasonable high-tea buffet. The ranges on their buffet menu are quite alot. All dishes are only cooked upon ordering. However do note that pickles, towels and Chinese tea are not included in their buffet. Great venue for simple gathering with friends and colleagues. Indeed a very satisfying meal. This is my first visit here. It was already 9++ and they are the only ones not closed yet, thus i went in for some small bites. Their service was nice. I had crispy beancurd with salted pepper for a start. It was a major letdown as it was just pieces of tasteless bite sized beancurds. There's no salt nor pepper to taste at all.
