Carpenter & Cook is one of the few vintage themed cafes in Singapore. My group of friends & I ordered a few of their tarts, drinks and a quiche to share among us. We ordered a Chocolate Sea-salt Caramel Tart, Lemon Curd Tart, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Passionfruit Meringue Tart, Frangipane Fruit Tart and the Cook’s Amazing Quiche. I am the only one among my friends who thinks that the Chocolate Sea-Salt Caramel Tart is the best out of all! I guess it's better like this, so I can have most of the tart!
I am the only one among my friends who thinks that the Chocolate Sea-Salt Caramel Tart is the best out of all! I guess it's better like this, so I can have most of the tart! Beneath the chocolate ganache lies a layer of gooey and yummilicious caramel! The Lemon Curd and Passionfruit Meringue tart are the next best ones while the Lemon Drizzle Cake and Frangipane Fruit Tart were quite disappointing. However, different people have different taste buds as one of them likes the Lemon Drizzle Cake! For the Frangipane Fruit Tart, we were all struggling to finish it. The quiche came with a side salad and it was tasty! I am mega disappointed with their coffee though as one would expect good quality coffee to go along with such nice pastries. Anyway, this cafe have a really good ol' vintage feel to it.
I love the decor and each piece of furniture is unique. We actually used this sewing machine which they cleverly transform it into a tabletop! All their cakes and tarts are freshly baked daily and I will surely visit this cafe again most probably to try their carrot cake, scones and savoury items like the brioche bun etc.
