I'm starting to lose count of the number of ice cream parlours within 5 km of the AMK/YCK mrt region, but the newest addition is Double Scoops! They offer toppings which you can add to your ice cream.

It's a very serious ice cream parlour, serving just ice cream, waffles, brownies and coffee. That's right, no egg bennys, truffle fries and any other actual hipster cafe food. Double Scoops focuses just on artisan gelato!

I was amazed at the variety of ice cream flavours your could pick. The customer before me, ordered 2 pints of baileys and orh-nee at just $10 per pint, I watched the staff scoop the delicious ice cream into the pints and I was tempted to do the same!

The cheerful staff encouraged me to try some of their flavours. Orh-nee was the first I tried and yes the yam taste lingered in my mouth. But I think I would rather eat the real orh-nee rather than an ice cream version of it.

After trying several flavours, I settled for the Sicilian Pistachio, which personally, I always order at every ice cream parlour I visit. You can say that I judge a cafe's ice cream quality based on their pistachio flavour.
1. Sicilian Pistachio *premium* with waffle cone $4.70

They were generous with the scoop and the cone was pretty big too! The ice cream itself was creamy, smooth and most of all thick! After the first mouthful, I was convinced, I'll have to be back to try the other dozen flavours one by one!

Double Scoops is very generous with their ingredients and you can see the pistachio chunks in the ice cream itself! I slowly indulged in it, bit by bit, savouring the pistachio nuts and enjoying the ambience in the cafe itself.
The cone was sweet, fresh and crunchy. I love their cones!
2. Flat White $4

The first thing my mum said, when she saw this. "WAH!" We loved that it came with the little flower/gem biscuits from our childhood days. Sadly, this flat white just wasn't cutting it, it was barely warm. I would say room temperature at best.
At $3.20 for a regular scoop, 50 cents more for a premium flavour. $4 for a waffle or $1 for a waffle cone, I believe Double Scoops has what it takes to conquer the AMK hipster cafe market which has a sudden influx of ice cream parlours!
