This Awfully chocolate branch is slightly different from their usual takeaway kiosks, there are some seats inside the shop and they serve coffee drinks and other chocolate beverages and customers can sit down for a cup of drink to pair with their luscious chocolate offerings. I noticed there were some special items sold here that are not typically served in a typical awfully chocolate branch, such as tarts and brownies. I was informed that not all branches will stock these special items but only made available in bigger branches such as the Star Vista one and the Tampines branch. I was recommended their special White Chocolate Creme Brulee Tart which I felt was a decent take on white chocolate and creme brulee. A crumbly pastry surrounds the white chocolate filling which has been glazed with some caramel and burnt over the surface to achieve the slightly burnt sugary coating that typically sits on top of a creme brulee dish. I felt this tart was interesting but I was unable to detect the intense rich chocolate flavour that I associate awfully chocolate with. Nonetheless, it was a well balanced tart that could have veered to diabetes inducing sweetness levels but thankfully did not.
